Setting up my 1st home theater!! Please help...

Looking for advice as I piece together all this new equipment I've accumulated over the last 12 months: Samsung 56" DLP (HLN567W) Samsung 841 DVD (upleveling DVD to HD is a myth) Motorola HDTC DVR (Comcast) HK AVR7200 JBL E30 (Front speakers) JBL EC35 (Center speaker) JBL SC6C (Rear...

JBL E30 vs. Infinity Primus 150

My question is simple... which is better? E30 or Primus 150? Also, I just bought a JBL EC35 center speaker. I had planned to get E30 for my front speakers. Would the Primus 150 work well (i.e. timber match) with the EC35? Or should I just stick with the original plan and get E30? The...

    Velodyne VRP-1000 or JBL E250P...?

At 21.5", the SVS-pb10 was is too deep (unless I cut out the back of my wall unit). Not to mention it was twice as much money. This is my first sub... I'm still learning. I hope I like the Velodyne. I don't have anything to compare it to. I hope I like it.

    Velodyne VRP-1000 or JBL E250P...?

The Dayton is 3/4" too tall for my opening. Since it is down-firing, I don't think it would be a good idea to flip it on its side. I went ahead and orderd Velodyne VRP-1200 instead of the VRP-1000. I got it for $215 shipped from Overstock.com. Before I bought it, I called Velodyne to...

Questions about DVI input on my Samsung DLP... (m)

My Samsung DLP (HLN567W) only has one DVI input... However, I have two DVI devices: Comcast HDTV box (Motorola) and Samsung DVD player (HD841). The question is: Which device should I dedicate my DLP's DVI input to? I watch much more TV than movies, so that would suggest routing the...

Question about my Samsung DLP connection.... (m)

I recently bought a Samsung 56" DLP (HLN567W). I also have a Comcast HDTV tuner (I think it's made my Motorola). I started by connecting the Comcast box to the DLP using componant video (green, blue, red). This is fine for watching HDTV channels, but when I switch to a non-HDTV...

What's the point of a built-in HD tuner...?

This is my first post (I have been lurking for a while as I contemplate a 56" or 61" Samsung DLP purchase). I have been enjoying HDTV for about a year on my 32" Sony Wega via Comcast. I only pay $5/mo. extra for the HD box. It's great, I just wish there was more HD programming. INHD and INHD2...
