Hey, have you guys seen the new Region B bluray for The Terminator? There's been hardly any publicity, and I only stumbled across it accidently. But it has a new HD remaster, and it looks FANTASTIC!!!
I dont have the original release to compare against, but this version is beautifully sharp and...

Bought the new Indy set instore here in Australia. Check out the case pics. Really nice design. Love the restored video!!! All bluray releases should be this great (you listening George?!?!)
Check out more pictures at...
These look like they have just been released in Australia. I havent been down to the retailers yet, so has anyone confirmed if these are new video and audio transfers? I thought I read somewhere that the audio now includes DTS HD MA, not Dolby True HD like the original release? What about the...
Valid point I guess. Hopefully the video has enough space to breath. Hate to have a crappy bit rate for the sake of including extras on the same disc. Seems like most studios have forgotten about extras on a separate disc these days and just cram it all on one.
2012 is definitely shaping up to be a great year for movies. Prometheus, Dark Knight Rises, The Hobbit. Those only will make my year. Then add Avengers, Amazing Spiderman, Act of Valor, and I am set!!!
Surely I cant be the only one that is becoming more and more disheartened this year with the quality of bluray catalog releases. It seems to have gotten to a point where studios just dont seem to care about improving quality, and would rather just get a product out on shelves they know will...
I'm totally confused. I just saw this vide on youtube of the overture, and the transition to the West Side Story credit is totally different.

In yours from the LD, it goes from red to blue with a brief fade to almost black in between.

Indeed I forgot about that one important point others have made. I'd only fork out $150+ if new high def 4k scans were done. Watching the original trilogy in this set, I always just get the feeling that things could have been so much better. Sure it's better than it's looked before on home...
I'd pay $150+ for a truly "ultimate" set, which included the unaltered original trilogy (dont care if it says A New Hope or not) and all the special features that have come before (eg. the extras available on the 2disc sets for the Prequel Trilogy). When I first heard of this current bluray set...
Hey I only just noticed a new picture of the Saga set on the Australian retailer JB Hifi. Now that packaging looks awesome!!! Better than the US version in my opinion! I hate having to get the discs out from some flimsy thing, and this looks much sturdier (like what Australians got for the Alien...
Totally agree that we need a Little Mermaid on blu-ray. The DVD was pretty shocking, particularly compared with other Disney high profile releases such as Lion King, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast. With such a disappointing DVD, here's hoping Disney do the right thing with A Little Mermaid...
I am a dumb ass. I just checked the blu ray copy, and the audio is correct. Only the DVD has incorrect audio. Disney also sent me an email stating that only the DVD should have an issue, not the bluray. So I'm happy. Next time I might just check the proper copy :)
Does this replacement program only apply to North America? I am in Australia, and have confirmed that my copy of Pinocchio is the erroneous version. I guess it's a minor audio issue that I would not have personally picked up without this forum, but now that replacement discs are sent out, I'd...
I hate how the Australian release has been dumbed down to just a "Pixar Classics" release. For a "first time on bluray" release, I would have hoped for the same sort of release we're seeing in Nth America, with a bluray/DVD combo release with special features. Sure I already have these from the...
I hear that the Narnia change in aspect ratio was really to open up the frame that was matted out for the theatrical run. So no actual picture is lost. Still, I think a movie such as this should be set to the scope ratio, just for the extra sense of granduer that I think it gives. Could you...
I agree. I have no idea how Forrest Gump won that category. I love the movie, but there are so many other memorable characters that come to mind: - Darth Vader (or any of the main cast from SW) - John McClane - Neo - The Terminator or Sarah Conner - Captain Jack Sparrow Just my...
Glad to hear that official announcement indicates each movie will be on 2 BDs. But still hate that all the extras are just on DVDs. I would've preferred the features to be consolidated on BDs, even if they were in SD quality. But, the movies are the most important thing, and if a remaster of...
bluray.com is reporting that the set will include 15 discs in total???? Does this mean that the movies will be split across 2 BDs? 15 discs sounds ridiculous. Consolidate the extra features onto a BD for christ's sake, even if they are still SD quality!!!!
Dont you just hate it when you buy them and dont end up watching them :) I made that mistake with DVDs. Lucky there are still people willing to buy 2nd hand DVDs, which helps pay for my new blurays. Trying not to make the same mistake with blurays this time.
I would definitely prefer to have each movie across 2 BD-50s. I actually dont mind the "intermission", particularly for ROTK. I also agree that having all the extras on standard DVD is pretty crap for a highly anticipated HD release. I was hoping this set would beat out the Alien Anthology, but...
Does this mean that each movie will only reside on one bluray disc? I was actually hoping that the EE would still be broken into 2 discs each to maximise the picture quality.
