Hey guys, I am currently adding a projector to my Home theater (as soon as I find a buyer for my 65" Toshiba RPTV) and I wanted to know if anyone knew what the required dimensions for DTS, THX, and DD are with reguards to screen size/degree of placement and speaker degree of placement/distance...
The retail on the sony is actually about 3k but I can get a new one for 2.. I have yet to see it in action (either or them) so I don't know if I prefer LCD or DLP... what is the main difference between them?
I'm going to be getting a projector for my dedicated HT room and I am trying to decide between the Optoma HD72 and the Sony VPL-HS51A. I can get either for around 2k. Also, when HDMI 1.3 comes out will I be able to upgrade my projector or will I be SOL? thx
Are you sure about that? I was under the impression that aluminum was also a better conductor than copper as well as a number of other materials... Anyway the banana clips I was talking about are gold so I would assume they would be more conductive than copper wire.
I need a little help settling a debate between me and a friend. What we are trying to determine is if adding a banana clip on the end of your wire, instead of doing a bare wire termination, will increase the resistance of the sysytem. There are two points. If you use banana clips: You fray...
I'm looking to get rid of my 65" Toshiba RPHDTV and move into the projector world. The unit that I've been drawn to initially is the Optoma HD72. One of the main reasons I like the unit (other than the price) is it says it is rated to display 1080p... is this accurate? I would love to have the...
I have a dell Inspiron 8000 series with a good screen and good HDD. The keyboard is a little messed up and for some reason it wont accept a windows installation. I was wondering if anyone knew of any projects you've seen posted using laptop components to make anything. I'd hate to just toss this...
Sure, the movie was bad... but didnt everyone know exactly what they were getting themselves in for? I knew it was going to be bad, it was bad, and I enjoyed the flim very much... one of those movies like 'johnny mnemonic' and 'starship troopers'.
I dont think you can leave 'the green berets' out, even dispite its flaws, because (to my knowledge) it was the only film made about the conflict DURING the conflict. All other vietnam movies were made afterwards.
I used the offical MS pack. The colors do look much more vibrant but its the jagged lines that are driving me nuts... bought madden 2005 today, same thing but I'm still enjoying the game :)
I just bougth the advanced A/V kit for my xbox so I could hook it up with component video cables to my HDTV. Well when I started up NCAA 2005 the widescreen works great but the whole game looks horrid compared to how it did. There are jagged lines everywhere that I either didnt notice before or...
How about cops opening fire on people in the middle of streets? When was the last time you saw a hi speed chase on TV where a cop was leaning out of a window and pumping rounds into the getaway car?

I liked it alot, thought it was great at what it was... entertaining summer eye candy. However, had this been an R rated movie, it would have been 10x better... and I'm pissed it wasnt.
Independence Day without aliens... that pretty much sums it up for me. Typical summer blockbuster, worth a matinee. Definetly a theater experience, wont be the same unless you've got a sweet setup.
I think soul plane will make more money than white chicks... at least I hope. soul plane at least looks quasi entertaining, I agree with the cheap laughs comment, white chicks on the other hand looks like a total train wreck... I dont know ANYONE who thinks that looks even mildly entertaining.
Zen, I agree... I'm still working on mine. Its hard to capture the depth of a genre in just 25 films... I honestly didn't think it was going to be this tough :)
