    Newbie IL60/speaker question

I used to have a KLH sub (go ahead and laugh) and I hooked it up to a piece of crap bookshelf system and as long as it has an amp and a sub out there shouldn't be any problem. If you are going to have the low pass on then wire your speakers through the sub and set it for 80 for a ghetto system...

    Blown Sub I think

I believe that everything is 4 ohm. I know the sub is. Anyway I have already disconnected both of the leads to the cone and will attempt to do it on almost minimal volume to see if it makes the sound. The noise was coming most definitely from the cone and not the port. I assume by port you...

    Blown Sub I think

Hey I just took apart a sub that was making a "farting" noise. The speaker doesn't have any apparent damage to it. Is there anyway I can hook it up to make sure it isn't the amp that is broken? Any ideas? Thanks

Any problem with sinking the speaker into the wall?

Are the speakers you are talking about putting into the wall actual room speakers or are they wall speakers? Why dont' you move the 4'9" to more of a 5'3" or so to give your self some more room. Should still stream most of the sound behind you and not directly into your ear. Have you thought...

I know what RMS means but in this situation what is it saying from the difference between the two numbers. If you need any more information just let me know. Thx for the sub help Jimi.

Sub Just Blew, questions about repair

Beautiful. Looks like what I thought was true. Since my sub is rotten right now maybe I should go ahead and take it apart and try to find what is wrong and show my roomate. Maybe I will post some pics of it here. Thanks for the help.

Sub Just Blew, questions about repair

Hey John thanks for the quick reply. I have heard that about the amp from a friend at work. The Sub is still hitting with the beat of whatever I am playing. The sound that comes out now is kind of a rattling "farting" noise. I guess I will just wait for a while then see about buying a new one...
