Bond movies tend to have some reflection of their time, whether it be 60s cold war, the various and obvious genres that 70s Bond films went into.... 80s Miami Vice, 90s Micheal Bey cartoons and post 9/11 darker stuff. It will be interesting to see one though next that's not a set up or biography...
That statement explains a lot. Basically Bond movies have sucked because time moved on and it's not the 60s anymore is a brief way of explaining it. It's too bad that some want the same tired formula.
I didn't say that I didn't like 3D. I said as you quoted I'll be happy to see the gimmick end. My comment is relevant to the over use of it. The sour grapes comments don't even make any sense. Neither does the DVD analogy.
Seriously, opening it up that everything - all films are gimmicks? Come on. I don't think that's a great argument. I don't really think it's that hard to digest - some people don't want to wear glasses to see something fly at them for 2 hours, let alone pay more than the already high cost to see...
"largely to avoid having to pay for such upgrades?" No, most people simply view it as a gimmick - something that's a fine once in a great while visual effect to watch, but that's it and certainly don't want to waste any additional money on it. I think this is a case where a forum's ability to...
I agree with the OP, but I disagree that it's only ruined now. As far as I'm concerned getting up in the middle of the night isn't very different than the being open on the holiday itself. It certainly sucks for the employees themselves and not something that is pleasant for most everyone else.
I just checked Amazon - so the cover art of 50th anniversary packaging I guess. Looks a lot better than the standard ones. I would like to get several Bonds on blu, but don't care for the entire set so likely will go this route, but man Amazon's titles are much more than the $10 B&M ones...
Will there be more individual Bond releases (Best Buy otherwise)?
It's nice to see there's ok cover art on these ones - the last DVD versions had horrible generic covers.
They can't (or won't) even finish the DVD sets (which would be fine). I can't imagine this happening.
I can only see this (entire series) happening once digital sales are more common/mainstream.
I'm thinking that Shout would produce a box specifically for the collection, rather than just the collected seasons sets wrapped in a package. I could be wrong, but I just think that they would.
It's too bad that I have most of the series already.
I have no expectations of Community going past season 4. I hope (and I'm sure that they won't let us down) that Season 4 is great and also works as closure for graduation.
Different estates so why would it be the same? Not trying to be difficult. I just don't expectations on complicated legal matters that most of us have no clue of.
