My friend has done this. The sound quality is alright. Not as good as a digital siginal, or CD's. But It isnt bad.

Id go projection TV. If you got a projector the pcture would be altered depending on the amount of light was in the room.

You could do it, probably would cut down on the quality, but not significantly.
