I'll sit down with a lot of the sitcoms and just go from one to the other. I recently watched Family Affair S3 and Silver Spoons in one go. I'll do the same with Friday Night Lights when it comes out - can't wait for that one.
My top six would probably be.... Friday Night Lights (newbie) Blossom (sentimental favourite) These Arms of Mine (Canadian show) The Hogan Family (love those 80s sitcoms) Charlie Grace (very short-lived Mark Harmon series) Early Edition (for the Kyle Chandler factor) My top five sets...
I'd be guessing because it was so long ago but I think it was the "Quantum Leap" pilot or maybe even the "Moonlighting" pilot. I think I even had the "Quantum Leap" pilot on laser disc way be when.
I loved the short hair. Then again, she's such a stunner - she'd look good bald. I wish Billy Campbell had taken a leaf out of her book and cut his hair - he looked so much better in S1.
In today's mail:
Once & Again - Season 2 (my all time fav. show)
Will & Grace - Season 4
Boy Meets World - Season 3
Life As We Know It - Complete Series (blind buy)
The above news was announced on tvshowsondvd.com in September last year. I haven't seen anything since. Is it still happening (though obviously not in the first half of 2005)?
I recently bought the "Mad About You Collection" and there was a flier in there advertising other Columbia/Tristar releases. Next to the "Party of Five Season 1" pic there is a caption reading "Party of Five Season 2 Coming Soon". That's a little hopeful.
I'd be interested in most of the shows on your list. I think Veronica's Closet and Suddenly Susan probably have the best odds of making it to DVD. I'd really like Get Real though.
Oh no. That's very sad. Interestingly, Flipper was on TV in the background as I read this. The print is still in such good condition (better than most shows from the 80s)that I still think of him in his 30s. It's hard to believe 40 years have passed. RIP, Po.
Hmm, a Flipper for every occasion, it would seem. I did buy the Flipper's New Adventure DVD last year because it had Brian Kelly in it so I figured it was as close as I was going to get to the original series. I have seen the remakes but they just didn't have the charm of the original series...
I'm positive I remember reading it at IMDB but now can't find where. There was an article in USAToday this time last year that had a vague mention of plans but only in that 'we're looking into it' way. I know I've seen mention of it here and there but don't have any specifics, sorry. As I...
I've read in a few different places (all rumours I'm sure) that there are plans for a "Flipper" DVD this year. There's nothing that I can see on TVshowsondvd. Anyone know anything about plans for a release. This was one of my absolute favourites growing up. I had such a crush on Porter Ricks...
That's why I'm hiding mine. I will admit (within the safety of this confessional only) that I have ordered myself a copy but I'm afraid I can't be putting it out on the shelf for all to see. People just wouldn't understand :b.
You mean they've played some in Canberra? Here in Sydney we've been teased with it for the last 2 years but not one episode has been played - not even over two non-rating seasons.
I've discovered quite a few series on DVD having never seen an episode. I haven't been disappointed yet with a blind buy. Dead Like Me (love it - one of my new favs) Due South (up to S3 - loving it so far) Freaks and Geeks (great show) Gilmore Girls (most enjoyable time passer) Keen Eddie...
I ended up buying one of the EW preview discs on Ebay. Just finished watching it and really loved it. I hope it makes it because there'd be quite a few loose ends caused by an early cancellation. I'm an Everwood feel and this had the same storybook feel to it.
I'd buy it without hesitation. It's an absolute must. Family Ties (and Michael J Fox) represents my early 'tween and teen years, my first television crush, my first must see show and the first show that truly devastated me with its end. I've been watching the final season over the last month as...
As far as the actor's reasons for leaving. Here's a quote from an interview she gave to the Courier-Journal.com: Why did you leave the Showtime series "Dead Like Me"? It was something I kind of knew when I went in to do the pilot and then, you know, the three episodes ... that I was going...
I bought Nip/Tuck blind. I'd heard a lot of good things about it when it aired but it just didn't really appeal to me (I grew up watching Julian McMahon on bad Aussie soaps). I finally gave in because everything pointed to this being my kinda show. I bought the box set and watched the 13...
from TVshowsondvd.com
Pretty Pricey but I'm looking forward to this release (if it's widescreen). Our local network showed about 7 episodes and then pulled it so I'm looking forward to finally getting to see more of this great show.
If that's the way they were meant to be seen then why were they all shot in high def widescreen? There's probably a big difference between how the studio view that it is 'meant' to be seen and how the people making the show view how it is 'meant' to be seen. I'd rather see it how the makers of...
