Update I currently got a pair of Axiom M3's for winning a contest (woot!). Anyway these little things are amazing. They are very nice sounding speakers. They can stay very clear even at very loud levels which is a rariety for bookshelf speakers in my experience. I'm powering them with an...
Every breaker in my box is 20A. So when I was (currently still) remodeling my basement I just ran 12ga and added more 20A breakers... only using 15A style plugs on the wall however. As mentioned above, not many things have 20A style plugs on em.
Honestly, I'm not the type of person that worries about the sound of a AVR. Perhaps that will change as the Axiom's I'm getting will be the best speaker I've ever owned. Unfortunatly the 3805 is not an option, I can only buy what this store has. I guess what I'm asking is, can the 3803...
Denon AVR-1083 (also known as the AVR-3803) - From what I've been reading, the 3805 would be nicer with DLPIIx and I just like the new look of the 3805 over the 3803, but looks are not gonna be the deciding factor for me. My only real concern about the 3803 is the lack of understanding how this...
OK I wasn't planning on buying a new AVR for a couple months but circumstances may present me with an oportunity to get an extremely good deal on these recievers: Harmon Kardon AVR 7200 Denon AVR-1083 and AVR-983 (I believe also refered to as the AVR-3803 and AVR-2803 respectively)...
I was reading that widescreen TV's are 16x9 but DVD's are usually encoded in 2 other wide formats... Check out this VERY imformative post on AVS here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...hreadid=300693 I think it could answer you question.
Ya I've purchases from MCM back in the pre-Internet days. They always did seem a bit more expensive than PE but I just couldn't find their website. (Prob did, just from its look thought I found a different company)
It's totally not about PE not being affordable... I want to find another compnay that is AS affordable as they are. :) I just wanted a few diff options on speaker wire, banana plugs, wall covers and the like.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but I've been searching unsuccessfully for an alternative to PartsExpress for speaker wire, banana plugs, outlet covers etc. Anyone have some suggestions?
I don't want the M22, thats just the only Axiom I could find in town to listen to. I want the M60's. And RE: Centers, one concern I have with the Rockets is the 4 ohm ratings. I've listen to the VP150, I thought it sounded pretty good but there was an issue, at least at this guys house...
Its $699/pr plus comparable center/surrounds to the Axiom VP150 and QS8's end up making the Rockets about 200$+ more. But I'm still trying to compare them on potential sound quality not just cost and looks.
I've been trying to audition as many speakers in town as I can find... I've managed to listen to: Energy C5 and C7 Paradigm Monitor 9 B&W 603 Boston Accoustic VR2 Triangle Zerius Axiom M22 (all I could find for an in town audition) Nutshell, the Triangles sounded pretty damn good...
1) Dolby Pro Logic IIx ppl have stated the Yamaha 1400 has this but I can't find any reference other than straight Pro Logic II on the Yamaha site and in the manual (what about the 2400 ?) 2) Power The H/K 7200 is rated 100x7 while the 1400 is 110x7. I read some ppl said the H/K has...
hmmm the first link doesn't work and the second is comparing the M22's which are not floor standing speakers... I have been thinking about Axiom's as well (M60's, VP150 and QS4's or 8's). I still need to do some in town listening to other brands but what I've read about the Axiom's on the web...
...last time I checked the only digital signals used were binary, ie 1's and 0's Thats the whole point of digital over anolog. There is no gray area, its *on* or *off*
Something I read on an eariler page sparked my interest in the discussion... I'm not gonna get into the arguement of cables when it comes to analog signals but how on earth can a cable affect a digital signal? Especially a serial digital signal? Last time I checked 0101 going in the cable and...
hmmm I see you point but I know I've had real life situations where two drivers facing opposite directions canceled each other out (turning one driver around remedied the problem)... taking your car door example, I wonder if the fact they are playing in stereo had anything to do with it, I...
Phase matters at all freq but you will notice it (phasing out) the most at lower ones (bass). (I'm probably not going to make sense without pictures but here goes...) This is because sound is AC, thus if you can picture what a sine wave looks like at one freq with the wave going positve...
OK... I got myself thinkin on that $~300 temporary AVR setup and came across: Yamaha HTR-5660 What is the quality level of AVR's from good companies in this cheaper price range? Or am I just better off investing a lil more in a reciever?
OK I'm the type of person who attempts to research and plan out what I like to buy way before I should actually be. Basically I'm in the process of remodeling my basement for a HT (pic = members.cox.net/inane/during3/slides/022904-03.jpg). So I'm trying to plan out what I need to have setup...
