Zenith DVB 318 & LG 7832 DVD Player merged thread

with that said, I MUST have a defective unit or something, I even had my neighbor come over (who is a HT fanatic) and look at the picture and he could not tell the difference either (my neighbor does not have HDTV as I would have tested it on his set) I was so excited to have this unit work...

Zenith DVB 318 & LG 7832 DVD Player merged thread

yep, both my 318 and Mitsu tells me its at 1080i resolution. When I went back to my Pioneer, my Mitsu displayed 480p so I know the TV is getting a 1080i signal from the 318.

Zenith DVB 318 & LG 7832 DVD Player merged thread

Well I just got my 318 hooked up with some good quality component cables (not the ones that come with the player) plugged directly into my Denon and watched a few movies with it. I must say it is really not any better than my Pioneer DV-563-A. I probably put my expectation level way to high on...

Zenith DVB 318 & LG 7832 DVD Player merged thread

I am getting my 318 sometime today (whenever the chocolate Santa decides to drop it off) Question: I have a Mitsu 65313 with both a DVI and component, currently I run my HD signal through my Denon AVR-3805 via component and it looks fantastic, should I run my 318 through the Denon or just to...

    Moving a 65" RPTV

Abe, thanks for wanting to help out!! well, I got it moved in halfway, I rented one of those dollies with the 4 big soft wheels that you can lay on its side and slid it right on the dolly (with the help of 5 people) and moved it right into place on the truck ramp, worked wonderfully! Now I...

    Moving a 65" RPTV

I am moving into my new home on Friday and plan on taking my Mitsu 65" tv with me, no one in my area offers a service to move the TV for me, so its up to me. Is there anything that I should be aware of when moving it? I also have to take the top (screen) off of the base to move it in place, not...

How's the remote of DENON AVR 3805?

I dont have any complaints against the remote except the volume control is very frustrating at times, other than that, I really dont mind it. I am sure one of these days I will get a true touch screen remote but it does the job for right now. Brent.

Denon 3805 sound vs Yamaha 2400 sound

Tom, I had the exact opposite with regards to the rear surrounds, especially my center rear. I have alot more sound coming from them than my old 2400. I have all speakers set at a +5 and I feel my surrounds are much more present with the 3805. Well congrats on your purchase, have fun with...

Denon 3805 sound vs Yamaha 2400 sound

Right on there Tom, like I said, it was a big difference for me as well!. Hopefully with your use out of it today, you will have made the right choice. Let us know! Did you find the back of the Yamaha better? or is that just me.... what about the dialog detail?? Brent.

Denon 3805 sound vs Yamaha 2400 sound

Tom, Not at all, it picks up everything right away, the switching between other components is really fast as well, no delay what so ever. Again, all this is just my humble opinion, I am sure there are others who would gladly disagree with me. If I had it to do over again, I would do it...

Denon 3805 sound vs Yamaha 2400 sound

Tom, I had a 2400 for a couple of months. I know what you are talking about with regard to the sound being uncomfortable at higher volume with the 2400. Even with tweaking the internal EQ's did not do much to eliminate this problem, the voices on a good DTS track just made my Polk's hard on...

    Infinity Subs........are they good???

I have the opportunity to purchase a new PS-10 Infinity powered sub for a great price. It sounded good in the demo room but I was wondering if Infinity makes a good powered sub? And if it would be better than my current Polk PSW404 10" sub, any thoughts??...... Thanks, Brent.

    AVR for hdtv...

Phil, I have a 65" Mitsu RPTV with a new Denon AVR-3805 running Comcast HDTV service and it does everything well. I cant tell a difference hooking my cable directly to the tv or having it run through the receiver. With most receivers now at 100Mhz bandwidth, I dont think you should have anything...

    Powering on a "cold" receiver

I have heard that its generally not a good idea to start passing signals or turning up the volume through your "cold" receiver until it has had time to properly "warm" up for a couple of minutes?? Is there any substance to this argument, or is it just a bunch of hooey?? Brent.

Has anyone bought the Denon AVR-3805 yet?

Shiu, you and I have had conversations in this area in the past. I must tell you that the 3805 pushes my RTi10's MUCH better than the Yamaha ever did, with that being said, I am sure that adding an amp to the RTi10's would only get better. With the addition of the Denon, I no longer need an amp...

Has anyone bought the Denon AVR-3805 yet?

Dan, I got home tonight and tried every single DD EX disc I currently own and the Denon only picked up two of them. With the rest, I had to force EX matrix. Here is the list I have tried that state on the sleeve the soundtrack is DD EX that the Denon did not pick up, Harry Potter...

Has anyone bought the Denon AVR-3805 yet?

Drew, The Roseville store has 7 in stock as of right now. They just hooked up one in the big demo room mated with some DefTechs. If you have a moment, go take a listen to it. I think it would sound better with a different pair of speakers myself. Brent.

    3805 Owners....

Cool Rob, Dont you just love purchasing from a good retailer like that! I might pay more for electronic items purchased from a store like Ultimate Electronics, but when it comes to returns and general customer support like that, it cant be beat. My sales guy is top notch. I purchased my...

    3805 Owners....

I have only had my 3805 for one day now and I dont notice that sound at all. I can hear current noise from the transformer, but only if I put my ear on top of the receiver, and then its very faint. I am also new to the Denon product line as I have always purchased Yamaha. Are you hearing...

Has anyone bought the Denon AVR-3805 yet?

The Roseville Ultimate Electronics. Drew, I am happy to say, I was the first consumer in the state of Minnesota to take delivery of a 3805 (i know that does not mean anything but hey, i think its cool ;) I know a few people that pre-bought the 3805 but have not picked it up yet. Drew, I...

Has anyone bought the Denon AVR-3805 yet?

I just grabbed the 3805 tonight, I swapped my Yamaha RX-V2400 strait across. This is also my first Denon product, I have always owned Yamaha's in the past. First impressions, I prefer the 2400's back panel over the 3805, the Denon is not as clean as the Yamaha. I also prefer the front panel...

Polk to Axiom or Ascend - Will I hear a difference

Chris, This is simply not true, ALL the reviews that I have come across by independent sources have clearly stated that the new RTi line is a great product. I have come across one negative review by someone on the Polk website claiming that the RTi10 lacks on the mids (i dont find that to be...

Polk to Axiom or Ascend - Will I hear a difference

Dont think the Polks have a chance against the Ascends becasue they are a retail speaker?? I think the new Polk lines (RTi & LSi) can definitly compete with Ascend. But there again, I think it all has to do with your sound tastes. I prefer the sound of the Polks over the Ascends, again that is...

    Energy vs. Polk

I have not heard the Energy line of speakers before but I run an all Polk setup and could not be happier with my speakers. Center: CSi5 Fronts: RTi10's Surrounds: FXi3's bi-pole / di-pole switchable backs: RM2600's Subs 2 PSW404's (the subs are not as bad as you always hear from people...
