to the old guy; the tang bands are good. mine were ok but they didnt like the 1000rms and made odd noises once they were at xsus. anyhow they should do fine for you. if you want something "better" get a 10kx in a sealed box. all the jl subs sound good and are quality so that route is fine too...
i guess it might be useful if you are reproducing explosions or pipe organs though.. but i guess if you have that kind of money to throw around go for it.

1. im not exactly sure what to look for because i have never actually tried an IB setup. 2. no. the port resonance(if applicable) and room gain (in the house) or cabin gain(in the car) are very important too. many of the loudest speakers in existance have quite small xmax. 3. it makes a...
1. the suspensions limit is XSUS and that is how far it goes linearly (basically) the magnets limit is XMAG and that is how far it goes while still retaining 71% of the BL(magnet strength). XMAX is the smaller of these numbers. 2.they use a dumax machine (usually) and they test box sizes...
those advents will make pretty crappy car subs. they wont be able to keep up with any kind of front stage that doesnt suck. i dont think they will like more than 50rms either. but unless you have amped component speakers your SQ will likely be abysmal so in that case you might as well use them i...
i am using one of them now and its the best sounding speaker i have ever had. i cant wait to fix the other one. having a sealed 10 flat to 30hz is cool:)
w ww.cardomain.com/memberpage/282974/10 advent loudspeakers. i need a new surround, so i will get one here w ww.speakerworks.net/kits.html what do you guys think?
4 ohms is a good resistance for the kind of amplifiers that are used for most home audio stuff. BTW on most amps that arent peices of crap you can run them under impedence for a little while, they will just get hotter.
if you use good drivers and tune low enough, it will not be any less punchy than sealed. it isnt hard to do. go download winISD and look at your response graphs and then build your box. dont forget to factor in driver and port displacement. winISD will tell you what size port you need. since...
has anybody thought that instead of wasting 3,000$ on subwoofers that they can build their own that will be AT LEAST 10db louder at any frequency and still sound as good? for less money even.
