Looking for suggestions... I don't watch enough tv regularly to merit a DVR. I want a DVD recorder primarily to convert tapes to DVD, and to record and archive the occasional movie from TCM that isn't available on commercial DVD. I plan to use rewritable DVDs for the occasional time-shifting...

Hi all, I want to transfer a bunch of old VHS tapes to DVD, so I'm considering one of those combo VHS/DVD recorder units. But is there really any advantage to those units over simply connecting a VCR to a DVD recorder that doesn't have a VHS deck? Thanks.

I have a Tivo; I'm going to get a projector. I can connect the Tivo to the projector using component. If I connect other things to the Tivo (tv though coax, vcr through composite), will the Tivo send those signals to the projector through its component output? Thanks.

So are the specs saying that the Panny will handle a PAL signal from a PAL player, an NTSC signal from an NTSC player, and a SECAM signal from a SECAM player, but cannot interconvert?
