I think I read somewhere that we won't get progressive scan dvd playback because it would have cost MS money to put the DVD logo on the Xbox.... or something like that. Anyone hear something similar?

I haven't ever noticed fan noise with my Xbox. I may if I listen for it, but it hasn't ever gotten my attention. It was manufactured in late 2003 if that matters.

I think Goldeneye was garbage. This being said as a seasoned PC FPS player.

As far as I know... The PS2 developers can create a fee for their online games if they wish. So far I don't think any have.

Get widescreen, no doubt at all!! More and more games should be supporting it I would think.

I do not believe any specs exist to the public at the moment (nor are they finalized anywhere). Both systems will support HD (Xbox supports it now, don't think the PS2 does) and widescreen (PS2 and Xbox both currently capable). Whether games actually utilize it, it is up to the game...

How is the center channel speaker in this package? Are you able to hear vocals fine when the action is getting loud? Thanks for any insight.
