My front & center speakers go down to 38Hz and bearing in mind my subwoofer is a not very good HTIB one which I will eventually replace, and the crossover point on my Rx start at 40Hz what would be a good crossover point?
Having a old receiver I will be connecting a Blue-ray player with analog cables, I have looked at the manual on the receiver and judging from the diagram they have used stereo pairs for the fronts, sides & backs and individual cables for center and subwoofer. Blue Jeans cables sell all 8 cables...
In my JVC DVD manual it states that: When connecting to a Dolby Digital decoder select Dolby Digital/PCM When connecting to a DTS decoder select Stream/PCM As I presume my receiver has both decoders do I just leave it on DD/PCM and only change it if I have a DVD with a DTS soundtrack?
Thanks Alon, I was thinking of getting an Oppo 970 and see that it has 5:1 analog outputs so does this mean my rear speakers will be redundant, also I have noticed that the sound from a digital connection sounded better than an analog one.
My receiver has 8 channel inputs if I were to use these from a dvd player how would it compare with a digital connection. As I notice that if you do this the digital sound fields of the Rx are no longer usable why would anybody use these inputs?
I have marks on the screen and taking a look through the side panel there look like dust particles on the convex lens can I clean it and if so what would be the best way. Thanks in advance for any suggestions
All of a sudden Internet Explorer is blocking my radio feed from BBC online, I have tried getting help from Microsoft to no avail and was wondering if anybody could help me?
I watched Last of the Mohicans which is a DTS film and I did not get the surround back indicator light to come on. I have been impressed with the prologic decoder on the other films viewed, I suspect I am missing something obvious and will eventually figure it out with trial and error. Thanks...
The Surround Back indicator light does not come on when I have selected dolby prologic IIx and when I select Extd Sur on the remote to get 7:1 all I get is AUTO .. .. on the Receiver, does that mean that the surround back will come on automatically when there is surround back audio available?
My centre speaker and fronts have a frequency response of 38Hz - 20kHz what would be the appropriate crossover setting on my receiver given that its crossover settings start at 40Hz
I hope overscanning is the correct term, what I am missing is about 5% of the picture bleeding off the bottom and sides of the TV it happens to a lesser degree on othe HD channels but the National Geographic channel is by far the worst. I have a Dish Network receiver and it is set up to 16:9 and...
I cannot recommend Blue Jeans Cable enough, I have used them several times and have found that the combination of an informative website, a well made, finished product and speedy delivery is something that is unusual in this day and age.
I want a subwoofer for a 23'x11' room that has an 8' ceiling an open door halfway down one sidewall and the last third of the room joins a kitchen area. I have 3 subwoofers in mind: (mainly for home theater use) BIC Acoustech H-100 (as I might get Acoustech center and fronts in the near...
I phoned Hitachi about the Director Series and was told that it was an older model 2004? After much study I have decided to go with the 50VG825 as it has a remote that controls HT and has a non-reflective screen. This seems to be the top of the line model of the current sets.
It is a powered sub, have used another power socket to no avail, it seems to be a talk radio station and to add insult to injury you just can't quite understand the conversation. It is noticable during quiet passages in the dialog of the program you want to hear!
The manual of the Yamaha YST-SW1500 states that higher sound quality will be achieved by connecting your amplifier to the subs LFE input (if your amplifier can cut off high frequencies) my question is can the Yamaha RX-V2500 or any AV Receiver do this or do you need a separate amplifier?
My front and center speakers each have a frequency response of 38Hz - 20kHz and have 6" woofers: would it be best to set them to "small" or "large" on my receiver as I also have a subwoofer. When I set them to large they sound better but I don't appear to get much out of my sub
On previous Pioneer threads there was highlighted a problem with digital audio between the dish network receiver and the Pioneer 1014, I was wondering if anyone has the 1015 and Dish and if there is still a problem or if this isn't an issue with the 1015
Many thanks for the help, I was confused because the TV manual said that if I did not have a cable box or a VCR to hook the cable directly to the TV. So now that my cable is hooked up through the ant in/out of the sat rx and I switch between sat and cable through channel 3 if the quality of the...
I presently have cable and satellite going through my satellite receiver and VCR to my RPTV (Satellite cable directly to the satellite receiver) (cable through a surge protector to the TV antenna IN on the satellite receiver and out of TV Set Out on same receiver to the Antenna In of the VCR...
I notice Yamaha receivers are high current, I'd like to know what this means, what if any advantages are there and most importantly would it increase my electric bill!
I currently have cable and satellite programing, cable because of interference from a radio transmitter makes over the air reception impossible. I have my cable going through my VCR and the VCR audio and video going through my receiver what I want to know is that as I now get my local channels...
