    MX500 IRClone

Is anyone running the IRClone editor for their MX500 on Win-XP? Appears that there is not a certified driver for XP and wondering how the editor works for you with the uncerfified driver. Also, read that the editor install can only be accomplished to the C: drive. The way I have my hard drive...

    Direct TV vs. Dish Network

I'm a long-term subsciber to Direct TV and have recently installed an RPTV. I am pleased with the Direct TV standard signal quality on my new Sony 51ws510. However, I want to upgrade to HDTV and add at least one more receiver, and as you know if your an existing subscriber nothing comes free...

    DVD Audio Connections

My user manual is a little unclear on audio hookup of my JVC DVD. When connecting the Coax Digital to my receiver, do I also connect the standard audio for non-digital DVD's and CD's? Will the player know which is which for varying audio formats, or will I have to make changes in the player's menu?

    Coax to Optical

My sat box has a coax audio jack. My receiver only has one coax jack, labeled DVD. There are several optical jacks for audio. Is there an adapter for this situation? Is it even worth my connecting digital audio from my standard Direct TV box?

    S-Video Switch

I may be looking for something that doesn't exist, but thought I'd give it a try here. Looking for a way to "break" the S-Video connection from my Sat box without physically unplugging the cable. Purpose is to enable the Sat box coax connection to send a signal to another TV. Cannot get a coax...

    Wharfdale & JBL questions

Larry, Only have the mains hooked up at this point. Need to run wires for the WH2's and build a shelf for my Diamond 8 Center. Will get back to you when all of this is done. I'm not an audiophile, but have exceptionally good hearing and am very satisfied with the 8.2's. Some say there is no...

    Wharfedale WH2's Wire Size

Based on what I'm hearing, have decided to scrap the under wallpaper approach and go concealled. Will use 12awg to play it safe. Thanks for the info.:)

    Wharfedale WH2's Wire Size

No, I don't have the specs, but come to think of it, I have read elsewhere that Wharfedale speakers tend to be a little power hungry. I suspect your right and they're going to need 14 awg.

    Wharfedale WH2's Wire Size

I am installing a pair of Wharfedale WH2 surrounds and need help deciding wire size. Does anyone think it adequate to use 18 awg for these small speakers @ 40'. Reason being, I want to run ulta flat wire (.05 mm)since I'm going to wallpaper room anyway. I know I can get larger sizes in...

looking for a rptv with good Analog and HDTV picture

Just installed my 46wt510 Sony, and am very impressed by PQ from my Direct TV with S-Video. Of course what I think is good PQ may not impress you at all. However, from what I had read here and elsewhere I had some apprehension because many where disatisfied with non HD satellite. Perhaps they're...

    Component Cable Length

Trying to minimize cable lengths in my installation, but am conflicted on placement of my DVD. Ideal location for the DVD would require a 12' cable. A less-convient spot will only require a 6' cable. Am I over doing it in my attempt to minimze attenuation/interference?

    DVD Location

Is it poor practice to put the DVD on top of the RPTV? This would be the best way for me to minimize the length of my component cables for my particular setup. Just doing a little planning before I receive my set.
