HTF REFIEW: The Muppet Show, Season One... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I hope that I'm able to get a fuzzy one myself... although, I hear that the reason why some stores don't have fuzzy covers is because it was only the *very* *very* first print run that had them (I read this on the muppetcentral.com forums). What I'm hoping, though, is that to meet initial...

HTF REFIEW: The Muppet Show, Season One... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Basically, some of the covers of the set are 'textured' (i.e. have a 'material' stuck on) so that they look like, and feel like, the 'fur' of the Kermit puppet. When you touch it, it feels 'fuzzy'. Some of the covers are just plain cardboard with a picture of kermit's body. So they feel like...

SIX FEET UNDER: An ethical question

I'd recommend you wait. I don't have much experience with this particular show, although I plan on checking out the sets. But when it comes to tv-on-dvd I just like to watch episodes in the correct 'order', whether that be broadcast, production or a mixture of the two. I do the above even if...

***Official Digital Video Essentials Discussion Thread***

Hey guys, just a quick one. I was just wondering if I were to calibrate my tv (brightness, etc.) with NTSC digital video essentials, would it also be calibrated for PAL? Or does PAL require different brightness and contrast levels, as examples? Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks :).

DVD Review HTF Review: Slider - Dual Dimension Edition (First and Second Seasons)

Thanks for the review. I've been waiting for them to release this for ages :). It's definitely not a show many - if any - people would consider classic, but it's definitely something special to me.

DVD Thinpak and other Slim Cases

Sorry guys. I was participating in this thread at the start of the year, but got a bit side-tracked by uni. For some reason these cases seem easier to obtain in Australia than elsewhere, so I'll do my best to determine the best suppliers.

    The X-Files: 9th Season a 7-disc set

Ahh.. thanks for the clarification. I didn't really follow the last two seasons so the episode names haven't stuck with me. I guess that would be interesting, but it would have been cool to geta retrospective. But I guess, ultimately, that's what 'The Truth About Season...' were doing anyway...

    The X-Files: 9th Season a 7-disc set

I'm just wondering about 'The Making of the Truth'. If it's a retrospective on all the shows seasons, it could be very interesting. But the name makes me think that it's about the making of the 'Truth about season x' documentaries. But I guess the running time doesn're really support this...

    The X-Files: 9th Season a 7-disc set

Yep, doesn't look like there are any episodes on the last two discs. Just 'bonus features'. I think they may be trying to reel in people who liked the earlier seasons but not the later ones. That's assuming that some of the features will relate to the earlier seasons as well. I've never...

    which x-files season/episode

I've also got a season/episode relate question. IIRC there was a running gag that Mulder never fired his gun, and that when he tried it was always knocked out of his hands or somebody else fired instead. Now, when did this gag end? I have a feeling it was quite a while before Mulder fired a...

ANGEL Season 3: No more OAR Rants.

Well, based on the last chat, I don't think Fox any concern regarding the missing previouslies. But how they'll react to the shows themselves being snipped, I do not know. I know it doesn't do R1 buyers any good, but I'm glad that I'm sticking to R2 and R4 for Angel....

    X-Files Season 9??

Perhaps the delay is due to syndication or something similar? I'm not in the U.S., but I often hear about this syndication business. Perhaps releasing two seasons are year means that the dvds have caught up to the current episodes airing on syndication?

    Angel S2 cut?

Yeah, especially since R1 got widescreen for Angel season two as well. It's almost as if the R4 people went out of their way to produce a 4:3 version. Joss says that Angel season two should be seen in 16:9, so we in R4 - and no one else - get it in 4:3. Joss says all Buffys should be in 4:3...

    Angel S2 cut?

Well, I actually live in region four land so I don't have to worry about the cuts, except for season one but I believe the previouslies are gone in all regions. The reason I'm getting Angel from R2 instead of R4 is because it has the 'correct' A.R. (R4 is 4:3). I was still planning on getting...

    The PS2/Xbox TVonDVD Incompatibility Topic

I had some trouble with the first couple episodes of R4 Buffy season two on my PAL XBOX. I realise the XBOX can't output progressive video (nor do I have a tv that accepts it), but the problem was similar to what I've seen referred to as 'combing'.

    Angel S2 cut?

Cool, thanks for that info. I'll more than likely want to watch Angel season two before June, but if for some reason I haven't been able to get it by then I'll definitely keep that price reduction in mind. In any case, I'll definitely be getting it from the U.K. Now. cd-wow are selling it for...

    Angel S2 cut?

Natalie, I'm in R4 land and despite the cut I would say you are still better off with the R1 than the local version. This is due to the fact that the R4 is in 4:3 whilst both the R2 and R1 are in the 'intended but not originally shown' 16:9 ratio. The region of choice due to 'correct'...

    Angel S2 cut?

I don't own the R1 Angel Season 2, but out of interest why has it taken so long for this to be discovered? It might make it harder to convince Fox of a remaster... In regards to missing intros MaraKM, no, there are more than those two. I've been watching R4 Buffy season three recently, and...

    Angel S2 cut?

It really makes you wonder who supervises the production of these shows. The fact that Buffy episode 100 (The Gift) had its intro removed leads me to believe that none of the show's creative staff have any input whatsoever in the dvd. I mean, it doesn't even sound like there is a fan at any...

EARTH 2 (Street Date 7/19/05) (contains spoilers)

Unfortunately, here in Australia, we don't have the Sci-Fi channel. At the moment, at least. What that means is, to the best of my knowledge, each episode has only ever had one screening. The fact makes me want it even more... I have to admit that I'm quite suprised that a show that I would...

EARTH 2 (Street Date 7/19/05) (contains spoilers)

Argh, I forgot that they were the ones responsible for Sliders as well. I hope that it's one of the titles that will be officially announced soon, Gord, as I believe it was unoffically mentioned some time ago. Well, finger's cross that things start moving on Sliders and Earth 2, although I...

LOTR: Return of the King Release Date

That's signficantly earlier than last year, isn't it? Hopefully the EE will follow suit :D. Thanks for the info. ;) edit: I just checked amazon, and if your info is correct this release will be a whole three months earlier in the year than when TTT was released. Almost to the day...

EARTH 2 (Street Date 7/19/05) (contains spoilers)

I really enjoyed this show when it originally aired. Is there any possibility that it will be released? Has there been any news at all? I noticed that on tvshowsondvd.com it is ranked 94th most requested, but unrelesed. This is a ranking higher than many shows that ended up actually being...

Same problem here. It could just be that their server i.p. has changed, and the site will function again once the new details have propagated to your, as well as my, isps' DNS servers.

    Warner Chat....

Hi all. I was told about the Warner chat around the time of the Fox one. If memory serves correctly it was supposed to happen around the 25th. The thing is, I haven't heard a thing since and so I've begun to wonder if it's still happening... Any clarification would be much appreciated :D.

    Ed Wood delayed AGAIN???

I agree with the comments throughout this thread about supply meeting demand. It looks like a good amount of people will sell them for at least twice what they paid, but I wouldn't be suprised if - after a few more days - it turns out there were a few to many opportunists.

    Take the Prime-time challenge!

I'd tune into any of those channels. Beats the primetime we get here in Australia, which is simply couples renovating houses. On the odd occassion we get good shows like Buffy, it will be at 11pm at night. Thank god for tv on dvd is all I say. It's become the only way I will watch tv shows...
