Are you saying it stopped working completely? If so, test the sub with an ohm meter to see what the coil(s) read. If that's fine, then try the other channel on the amp.
I agree, it probably doesn't need one for home use. I didn't stress mine without a fan, but did have it disconnected for a little while and it was barely warm. But, since my amps are right next to my computer/HTPC...which has fans and hard drives...and my projector has a fan...well, it didn't...
Is the QSC using a 24v 80mm fan? If so, Digikey part number P9739-ND NMB/Panaflo 24v fan. This is pretty much the best fan you can find assuming it's 24v 80mm (there's a 12v version as well). I replaced the one in my Behringer EP2500 with this and have been using it for a couple weeks now...
Then you were already sending too much power to the shiva. Clipping isn't a magical speaker killer...it's too much power. You could send a clipped signal all day long to the speaker as long as the signal is within the speaker's power handling ability.
Looks like the two end "chambers" are quite a bit bigger than the middle two. Personally I wouldn't restrict them that much...leaving at least the SD of a driver available.
Not really, but some people have hooked up the behringer feedback destroyers in-car. No, you can't parallel two computer psus. Sell the amp and buy a home amp.
You should be just fine. Going from 500 to 800w will only gain you ~2db. I run a 1600w adire tumult off of a 250w plate amp and I'm happy with it (coming from a guy with 2400wrms available to a 1600w adire brahma in car).
Using a PC atx psu, hook the amp (+) up to a drive molex plug using the yellow lead, hook the rem power on lead of the amp to the yellow lead as well, hook the amp (-) up to a drive molex plug using one of the black leads. Short out the green wire on the motherboard molex to any black lead to...
I would like to borrow an authentic Infocus M1-DVI cable (not M1-VGA). I just need to test my projector (SP5000) to determine if the port is working properly since Infocus says it does yet it still doesn't work with my old cable or the new one I bought (non-Infocus brand) whereas it did in the...
I would be concerned mainly with sandability, or lack there of, for something so thin. That, and possible voids in such thin veneer. Otherwise it should wrap more easily.
I've never used anything but straight cut bits and have been fine. Yes, you should be able to make just about as small of a hole using a jig as you'd like. The only problem I ever have, and it's more just a minor inconvenience, is when the radius of my hole is the same as the radius of my router...
Since I didn't read any area recommendations, I'll give mine of 40-60 sq inches of port area for a 15" driver. I've used about 45 for both a brahma and tumult without issue.
Do yourself a huge favor and spend just slightly more for a Hitachi M12 router (KM12SC - single speed kit with both fixed and plunge bases, M12SC - single speed with just fixed base, KM12VC - variable speed kit with both bases, or M12VC - variable speed with just fixed base). At amazon the...
A little late, I just finished tonight :S Dying went great - I didn't have any streaking problems with the alcohol dye...well, I guess that's not 100% true, as the dye does dry/build up a little so that I got streaks, but a light rub with a clean rag removed that just fine. I put on the...
You can't do a parallel/series combination of 3 without the speakers getting different power levels - eg 2 parallel in series with 1 would give 50% power to the 1 and 50% power split between the parallel 2, so they'd see only 25% power. I think you either need to amp them seperately or put in...
I guess I should mention that I bought the alcohol soluble powder, not the water soluble (both are available). I'm not a big fan of using water based products on veneer, or at least not when trying to APPLY veneer...but I just shy away from it whenever I can. I've already done my other cabs with...
I went ahead and ordered some from woodworker.com last night since they seemed to have a fairly decent price, and they shipped already. I'm working on a center channel and like the look of other cabinets I've seen finished with black aniline dye, whereas black stain looks pretty poor IMO (I...
Where would one expect to find black aniline dye? I went to my local Ace/Miner's Hardware and they didn't know what it was, nevermind having it. Would HD?
It's not very clear...he said one 8" port whereas his old had two 6" and then asks about two. One 8" port per tempest is plenty IMO. You want to look at port area when considering what size to go with. An 8" port is about 50sq inches and should be more than enough for a tempest. If anything...
I would black lacquer it. Hit it with a couple coats of sanding sealer and then at least 3+ coats of lacquer, sanding between sealer coats and the first couple lacquer coats. Despite what others may say, I've worked on an entire mdf trimmed house interior (4" baseboard, wainecoting, door and...
If you can limit yourself to 97" wide, then I'd suggest the Do-Able vinyl panelling you can buy from home depot for ~$15 per 4x8 sheet. For almost zero work I'm very happy with how this works. I didn't even cut this, just slapped it up :) I might do a black boarder sometime, but it's fine...
