I too am very anxious to check out the HO models. Is there any word on VTF-3 HO pricing? A VTF-3 MKII is already making me wince at my budget, but this HO model has definately peaked my interests. Peter...please hurry up with the HO's...my Ascends are lonely ;)

I think this is correct. Headaches & eye strain seem to come from an excessively bright screen, especially when in a dark room. I also think DLPs tend to get blamed for this because they tend to be (often/in general) brighter systems. Also, don't discount DLPs if you can see rainbows. I can...

Craig - I hope you made a good choice...because I just placed my order for an HK AVR-435 last thursday :) Regarding the quality issues - I asked the dealer I bought from about them, and I was told that most, if not all, of the problems seem to be with early run 635s (from his perspective)...

Mike- in regards to the BenQ's Senseye processing do you expect the 7700 to have a higher contrast ratio vs the MT700. (Re: the 2500:1 vs 2000/2400/2500:1 confused MT700 specs) Personally I'm hoping they're the same :)

Those are three good options from the LCD world. The sony should definately be over $2500 I think.

Michael - I agree, it's really all about bang for your buck. I like lots of bang for my buck, and $2500 is definately the bleeeeeding edge of my budget. These HD2+ boys should fit nicely. :) I would also add, "you can also always get worse for more money..." hehe

I am in a similar situation. I was set on the Panasonic AE700 but saw the new Toshiba MT700 and the BenQ 7700 (almost identical unit) coming up. For only $500 more you get a better quality picture, but with less mounting flexibilty. For me, I think that *if* you can make the mounting solution...

Actually, the Toshiba MT700 is essentially the same projector except it uses farjouda processing (there may be some other small differences I am not aware of yet), and its street price is smack at $2500 right now. Hopefully the BenQ 7700 will come in lower and closer to that figure. Speaking of...
