They are both crazy. I hope I can afford to do that some day to my own house. I'm building one right now... but no where NEAR as elaborate as either of those. Real gold leaf paint????? Waste of money if you ask me.
I just put some carpet in my basement and didn't need to put down a subfloor. I think the easiest thing to do would be fill in the grooves and then put it down. The installer just glued the tack strips around the outside as well as drove the tiny little nails down into the concrete. Worked great...
I just recently got the onkyo TX-SR501 and love it. So for that price... I'd recommed the TX-SR601. I auditioned it also and really liked it, I just didn't want to spend the extra money on it.
I'm really leaning towards getting the infinity alpha 20's for fronts, the Alpha 37C for a center channel. And either the alpha 20's or the alpha 10's for surrounds. I'm lookin at the PS-10 sub.
I'm goin to audition these speakers today again. I'm just wondering what you guys think about them...
I just got my onkyo501 this morning... I only have it hooked up to 2 cheap klh speakers and it STILL impressed me. It sounds awesome. I can't wait to get all my good speakers and get it setup correctly.
Well a have an acquaintance that can get me stuff factory direct from polk audio for crazy prices... so I think I'm goin to get polk stuff. I can't decide what I want though. I have the onkyo 501. I can get this
Polk theater system
Or get the R20's real cheap... and buy them individually. or...
The greenish gray that i'm talkin about is kinda on the charcoal side. I don't really know how to explain it... think of the color wheel... look at charcoal... then move slightly toward green. LOL.
Well I'm currently redoing the room where I'll be putting my HT. It's nice to be able to start from scratch. I just can't decide on the color. I want something fairly dark and relaxing. Nothing bright. It's in the basement... and there are only 2 medium sized windows about 6 ft. off the floor...
OK I'm basically a newbie in home audio. I recently purchased the onkyo 501. I have some cheap speakers now but I'm going to be buying some better ones in the near future. I need to know what cables I need to hook everything up though. I want to hook up a dvd player, vcr, and PS2. And...
I'm liking the price/quality of the JBL s26II's. I read somewhere that they take a little extra power than some other bookshelves to reach they're potential and sound good. I'm worried that my onkyo 501 might not have enough to make them sound good. Does anyone have these speakers and/or the...
I was recently considering a sony receiver too. But after a lot of research and a lot of advice from this site. I decided that the Onkyo TX-SR501 is a lot better for the money. I got mine from Ecost.com $184.95 and I got it in 3 days.
Mine is scheduled to come tomm... I told my mom I'd let her stash it til christmas though... since she payed a little bit for it for a christmas present... so I guess I'll know christmas morning how it sounds.:emoji_thumbsup:
Hey I was just wondering if any of you guys are interested in off-roading. I am currently working on a website created for our local 4x4 club. I have forums with all kinds of 4x4 forums, but I also have off topic, mountain biking, big boys toys, skiing and snowboarding, hunting and fishing, and...
Well I bought the Onkyo TX-SR501 receiver and now I need speakers to go with it. I'm looking for something around $125-150 a pair for the surrounds. And maybe a decent set of towers for my fronts, or good bookshelfs. I also want a good center channel because I know how important that is. And of...
Well I'm trying to pick a receiver. I don't wanna spend too much on it... but I want something nice. So far both the Onkyo TX-SR501 and the Sony STR-DE695 look pretty good and seem like they have everything I want. So which one would you guys recommend? Or any other receivers that you...
