You are probably underpowering your speakers, which is about the worst thing you can do if you crank them. Too little power blows speakers, not too much. In other words, you're overtaxing the receiver/amp, which can blow your speakers. You can keep the sub on all the time.
That should be fine - the 99% is key. Don't use the regular, less-pure kind. Along with the heads, don't forget the capstan and pinch roller. Demagnetizing is important too. Just be sure to have your amplifier off or you'll blow your speakers. PS - I assume you are talking about an audio...
Thanks for the link, Eric. I had seen it and, while it doesn't say HDCD and the machine doesn't have an HDCD insignia, one never knows. And yes, Feisal, I'm looking for decoding capability. I have a lot of HDCD. I'll probably end up with the 3910.
Hi all! Equipment: Sony KDF-55WF655 Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4200 HD box (cablevision) Adcom preamp/tuner (NOT HT, only 2 channel) Monster Cable HTS-3600 conditioner Commercial line conditioner/voltage regulator Problem: I still have only 2 channel stereo. I want to get the...
I recently bougth the KDF-55WF655, and, with a few adjustments to the set and the cable box, it looks great!!! I'm about 9 feet away and I believe there's a noticable difference between 50 and 55.
I agree with Craig and Ryan. I've bought tons of stuff on EBAY, but only 1 expensive electronics item. It was from a seller I could pick it up from, so it was OK. Otherwise, I'd only buy from someone TONS of feedback and it must be over 99% positive (anything below that isn't really...
For speakers, I'd seriously consider a pair of used B&W's off ebay or audiogon. Speakers are one component that is a good bargain used, and a good pair never go "bad." These are far superior (for the price) to almost anything you'd see at Tweeter...
It's the two preamps/one set of speakers things that probably makes it undoable. I'd like to avoid putting 2 channel through and AV preamp at all. Amplifier switch...will it work with preamps? hmmm.....
What we've been wating for (although not 1080p)? :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup...
I'd like to have a seperate passive preamp, if possible, for regular 2-channel listening. I'm not sure how I'd go about this and still use the same amp and (front) speakers as home theater. Can I use the digital out of a DVD player to a DAC to accomplish this? How would I go to the amp...
I've read that the WE610/WE655 replace the old XBR800 at 50", and are "better" than the XBR800, despite not being labeled XBR. The 60" and 70" XBR sets are the new top of the line.
