Just recieved this today... I thank Shout Factory for making it possible for all of us to get the final seasons of Dragnet, but I have one gripe... Universal used the Keep Case packaging for Season 1, Shout went to boxed thinpak's for seasons 2 & 3, and now Season 4 is back to the original...

Just an update- I got my new "Phone Booth" from Time Life on Friday and while the sets fit a little better they are still a very tight fit. Apparently it is just the way they designed it :-(. Kudos on the discs though, I'm halfway through Season Two and have been very pleased with the quality.

I think Time Life is really trying to do right by the fans on this release. I got one of the earlier sets that is great to view, but the sleeves fit very snugly in the case. I e-mailed the Time Life people shortly after it arrived and inquired about a replacement for it, but never heard back...

I would be interested in sets like this as well, and I believe there would be a market for them. After all everybody used to say nobody would buy TV shows on DVD and look at that. Of the major networks CBS has the best archival operation, and has saved almost every news special, live event...

Just one point on these Public Domain release comparisons. You've got to understand Paramount didn't authorize these Public Domain releases, and they certainly don't supply the prints to these companies that produced these discs. They had to go out and buy their prints from old tv stations...

One more point on the availability of uncut masters... for film shows you can have master negatives go missing, get damaged, etc but the risk is even greater for problems with VIDEOTAPED shows, or shows post-produced on Videotape. In the case of shows like Sanford & Son or All in the Family...
