Hey wallyJar, just the review i need!. I also have an Infocus 4805, the differences between SD and HD are good enough to justify the purchase. Could you please detail them ?
But i think the argument is true. When i saw a disk, i think i really want it or could i wait until i get an HD-DVD. Seeing the sale bins, it's easy not to buy and simple rush to the bin and get a heavy discounted disk.
I had been reading a lot of good things about HD-DVD, and with Toshiba covering some of the production costs for me, i'm thinking seriously to get a HD-DVD player (the cheapest of course!)... But i have a question, i only have an Infocus 4805 projector, there is a good improvement over DVD...
Well it's really a shame that sony has showed this so bad discs. Everything was in place to let BluRay be the best of the formats, PS3, more space!. But what we got?, bad quality films. I'm okay not being with Microsoft and not using VC-1 for the disks, but at least use mpg4 (the 264...
A very good movie, i read in the news page of HomeTheaterForum(here) that this movie lead the sales chart of this week. Well deserved, it's quite sad that it didn't make money at the box office, anyway the important thing is that it found it's public.
BluRay has been able to produce prototipes in japan, quite a long time ago, and there has been some prototipes available to the press (Original German: http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/68839, translation: http://translate.google.com/translat...language_tools) From that article we can...
As a lot of people has previously stated, i think they are different markets. I have just purchased a projector (Infocus 4805, yes!!) and i want the best quality possible. At this time it's DVD, maybe the next generation of Ipod will be able to connect to a TV and the episodes will be...
Blu-ray discs i'm interested (from Juan C List): Sony/MGM The Fifth Element (in multichannel uncompressed audio) House of Flying Daggers Kung Fu Hustle Robocop
Didn't work out that with DVD's ?(Support for widescreen TV - Anamorphic, even with a very low presence of that type of tv). If sony put 1080P in their new machines, it will be great
Nice Article, i feel the same way with lost in space. But even newer shows sometimes misses something, for example Smallville has been aired in 5.1 for some time now (even the pilot has a 5.1 track in Canada) but so far only dolby surround in the discs
It's getting a bit scary this story about Sony, it looks like BluRay is getting a bit of heat here. For me, if you don't have to use an internet connection, i will buy it, otherwise i highly doubt it.
I recorded it, and i will see it tomorrow, hope it's good (Anyway i have always like Smallville, even season 4. A lot of people didn't like but i found it better than 3).
I'm very scared with the way HD Video Discs are looking. Phone requeriment?, it's like a no sale for me. I just order an Infocus 4805, and i will have it next week or in december (long story), but the way things look, i think i will not upgrade very soon to HD-DVD / BluRay. I think Regional...
I don't like region coding but i can live with it because i have a hacked DVD Player. BUT i won't connect myself to the net, no way!. So it looks like i will wait before i buy, and the wait will be long. It will be a shame to lose an update to HD, but the studios aren't lefting us with any...
Yes, but there hasn't been any more news from the source (toshiba and sony), like a website with all the abilities of each format (codecs video and audio). I think as Nils, i'm pretty sure when people see the quality of a BluRay transfer (I remember the article that Ron published , it was...
This weekend i saw Wasabi and Astérix & Obelix contre Cèsar Wasabi it's a great film (i'm a fool for action films). Great action and it's placed in Japan, so it's a total winner for me. Astérix on the other hand is just an adaptation, nothing out of this world. Anyway, give a try to...
The lions gate is a good move, i read somewhere it balance "the force" (market share) of the two formats. HD-DVD shut himself not releasing the format in the holidays, the great advantage of HD-DVD is was simply timing (People with this mega projectors, more than 15000 US$, they will fly to...
