I'd give a vote for the Ryobi BT-20, it's a folding unit with 27" of right rip capacity, big enough to cut panels for most reasonable boxes. But if you can swing the extra hundred or so, go for the BT-3100.
I was happy to see Rachtman and Scott Ian offering the dissenting view that Danzig's "Mother" did not belong on the list. Sure, it's not up to the standards of his Misfits days, but it's still a hell of a lot better than anything else on the list...
Yeah, I learned recently that bondo beats the hell out of regular wood filler, and I coat the entire enclosure with a thin layer (thick on the seams)to help seal it up before priming.
Yeah, I know about the price (I was kidding about HoK...), and the sand/paint/sand ad infinitum ritual, I just need to get away from the latex because the cure time to allow for good sanding does not exactly make sanding feasable. Also, the leveling properties of latex are rather poor compared...
Stefa, I'll second the support of the Chicago SO, especially when Solti was at the helm. (I'm also very fond of Barenboim as well). The guy really new how to beat the crap out of his musicans when the teutonic music needed it. on that note: 1. Beethovens 9th (Barenboim/Berliner...
Has anyone here ever finished a unit by spraying automotive paint? I ask because I've never used the stuff before and it looks like it might be a hassle dealing with all the different things one needs to mix into the paint (reducer, retarder, etc...). I've only used my HVLP gun to spray latex...
While we are on the topic of incontinance, I'll have to say that the Rattle & Hum concert footage that is in color (where the streets have no name, With or without you) is so incredibly well done that I tend to have the same affliction as Aaron...
Their best concert footage is probably on rattle and hum, but I think as for which new one is best it's really a toss up. Boston has better video, but slane has a seemingly infinite mass of ecstatic irish. Slane has DTS, but the Boston sound is superb also. Just buy them both.
look on ebay for some of the beethoven piano concertos that DECCA released, vladmir ashkenazy on piano. I have the fifth, and it's the best vinyl record I'veever heard.
I have a ryobi BT20 table saw, and for 200 bucks, I'm damn happy with it. It's a folding base unit, so you can knock it down quickly and put it next to a wall in the garage. I've never used a "real" table saw since a good delta contractor saw that will last forever will set you back about $800...
cool, I got a brand new (OEM) Makita biscuit joiner off ebay for 8 bucks, so I was curious about using it for my speakerbuilding too. hopefully it will work fine while I'm still practicing mortise and tenon joints  nick hallett
For those of you who are more accomplished woodworkers than I, how well does MDF hold biscuit joints? Does the fact that there is no grain structure in MDF pose a problem with strength? Nick Hallett
I have a pair of 55i's as well and I still love them. I think that polk may have chosen not to continue production of them because they were a little too popular, i.e. they were cutting into sales of their tower models.
Supposedly it has the strength and water resistance of poly glues, but without the foaming and pain in the ass cleanup. Sounds like cool stuff. Wondering if anyone has any input on it yet? Nick Hallett
I personally have a deep fear that the LOTR cast will end up like the Star Wars cast. Granted, onw or two might end up with a carreer like Harrison Ford, but I could also see Viggo Mortenson in Hidalgo being the equivalent of Mark Hamill in Corvette Summer...
It's about bloody time theres a good U2 thread here! I personally wish they could relesase the boston and slane shows on CD just for portability. There are some damn good performances on those DVD's, namely Kite.
Hank, I meant 2" diameter just as an arbitrary figure for a large bit. I havn't got a roundover bit yet, or the AV3 kit yet for that matter... I'm just trying to think what else I need before I start ordering. 3/4" roundover, new spiral upcut, 3 phase powermatic table saw...:D Thanks
