Hello all! Long time reader, not 1st time poster, but it's been years. TL;DR version. Spent 4 years travelling for work. Took a new job locally and moved back home. Wife and I can't re-cohabitate so she's moved out temporarily. Re-setting up some of my surround sound.
H/K AVR 325. Non-HDMI...
Terry, The volume is the same that we've always watched movies, music, etc. at. From the receiver, I've got the output of the sub set to + 5, which is where it's been since I bought it. I've always had a pretty good ear for calibrating, but I need to get the SPL meter and a setup disk. I have...
All, I've been a member here for quite some time, but don't post a lot, but when I have, the responses have been great. Having said that. I have a MTX 12" powered sub. I have the gain set to about halfway, and the crossover maxed out. On my H/K AVR 325, I have the crossover for the sub set to...
Before I got my laptop, I ran cables from the desktop through the floor, along the floor joists in the basement, and back into the receiver. It sucked having to run to the other room if I wanted to switch songs. The laptop makes things so much easier. Just an idea to mull over.
All, If I should have posted this in the speaker thread, I apologize. I have been a member here for a while now, and have read a lot of posts, most of them helping me out in little ways. I'm by far not new to home theater, but just brain dead sometimes with simple things. I have a H/K AVR...
Something I thought about earlier....When Palpy and Mace are dueling, and the window breaks, doesn't Palpy's lightsaber fly out of the window? It looks like it, and after watching Mace fall a looooooong way, how did he get his saber back? He obviously had it in his battle with Yoda. Don't...
Wow. These last 24 hours have been emotionally draining. After catching the midnite show, (and even though I've graduated, I still have no job and let my wife do all the work), watching twice more today, and then experiencing Reggie Miller's LAST GAME EVER live, I'm whooped. Still, by far, this...
Ok, I've had 2 weeks of reading to catch up on. My hard drive crashed about an hour into my last final before graduating Indiana State, and just got everything back up and working. Anyways, I thought the movie was great! Would have liked to see the lightsaber scenes shot from more of a distance...
My wife and I are leaving Terre Haute now, and should be in Mooresville by 6:30 or so. Cell = 812-243-4918. I know we're not doing anything tonight, as my senior construction management project has handed me my ass the last 2 weeks. I'm eating good food, and then falling over, but we're down any...
bummer. i turned my two weeks in here retroactive to two weeks ago, when I went on vacation, so i'll just be missing a few classes, but oh well, it's during dead week of my last semester, so they can kiss my a$$
Downtown Hooters, Steak and Shake, anywhere at Circle Center, the entire 4th floor is nothing but bars. BW3's, Champions Sports Bar, the Slippery Noodle Inn (great place for live blues music), Houlihan's, etc. etc. I haven't been out in downtown Indy in years, probably since I moved here to...
My wife an I will be there Thursday thru Saturday. Hell, it's only an hour drive from good old Terre Haute, and my parents live about 20 minutes south of the convention center, so it all works out.
Ok, have a dumb question.
So which is it, crossover on the sub all the way, or not? I have the HK AVR 325 and the MTX SW2, but have the crossover on the sub set at 80, can't remeber what the reciever is set at. Not really new to all of this, but still stupid just the same!:b
I wish I could pick it up at midnite, but Suncoast Video here feels that it is not that important of a movie to open at midnite, but they "will accomodate the people by opening at 8 am the next morning. have a nice day, sir" click.... Tried to get my money back so I could just go to Wal-Mart...
Hey all. I've been reading a lot of the posts in the Star Wars threads, and decided to do a search for the Dukes Of Hazzard. I have only posted a few questions about home theater stuff until now. My birthday was the 18th of this month, and my in-laws got me the box set. My mother-in-law said the...
Eric, I did the same thing, but on a small budget, I just got a splitter for the audio out on the computer, then ran RCA's under the floor, thru the basement, and up to the reciever. Now my MP3's can be enjoyed in full surround, and it sounds pretty darn good. Vince
Got the MTX, and after screwing around with different settings (fronts set to small;lfe;lfe + l/r), I've found the lfe setting works the best, with the most bass, and the cleanest sound. The 12" MTX, along with my old crappy 8", wow, it is enough to shake your ass on the couch and vibrate...
Price. Just bought a house, a truck, got married back in October, etc. Plus, in a few months, student loans staring me down. Other than that, I just liked the sound, I guess, and have been putting it off for over a year, and my wife said to go and buy the damn things, so I'd shut up about it. :)
I've done some searching on here, but haven't really found a definitive answer on the MTX sub line. I'm heading out tomorrow to probably get the MTX 12", but want to make sure it is going to sound good with HT. Right now I have an OLD RCA 8" sub, and it's ok, but nothing to brag about. A buddy...
Hey all. First, I LOVE the sight. Stumbled upon it one night, and have been hooked. Second, I know a little about what I'm doing, but not enough. Anyhow.... I read a post on here somewhere that said to set all speakers to small, and that would help with the sub sound. That worked awesome, except...
