There was actually eight test cities. I actually made my purchase in Spokane. The store owner got Seattle to slip him some of the DVDs for the big day.

I purchased Unforgiven the very first day DVDs were released in the USA in 1997. Made the purchase the first hour the store was open.

Any word on when The Polar Express is coming to DVD? I saw the film at an IMAX and it was breathtaking. Very nicely done! I am looking forward to seeing it on DVD and adding it to my collection. :)

Does anyone know if Disney is going to re-release "Cool Runnings" with a new animorphic transfer? It's an enjoyable film but I can't see buying it until it gets upgraded. A Blu-ray version would be nice...as long as it will play in a HD-DVD player.

Thank you for your reply Doug. I am most interested in the episodes from the Cory Stewart era. My father was the US Forest Service technical advisor on the show from 1966-68. I am hoping there are a couple of shows from when he worked on the show. If there are it would make a great Christmas...

I am trying to locate a review on the Lassie 50th Anniversary DVD. Can someone point me to where I might find one? I am hoping to learn which episodes are on the disc. None of the stores in my area have a copy in stock to read the back cover. Thank you.

Count me in! A special edition is only natural for this film. But please ... leave the Ted Turnerization version for VHS.:)

I bought my first DVD back in 1997...the morning they were first available for purchase! :D The disc was "Unforgiven." Took it to work and told everyone they were looking at the future.

"Battleground" won an Oscar for best B&W cinematography in 1949. I certainly hope they give it the restoration care that it deserves! It is one of the best war films out there in my opinion. Now if "To Hell and Back" would only be announced.:)

Can someone please tell me if the Fox War Classics version of "The Longest Day" is a visual improvement over the original DVD release. Also...any word on when "Battleground" will be released on DVD? Thank you.
