I have a Infocus Screenplay 7200 DLP projector and made my screen out of directions and cloth from a guy on ebay named moakes. It looks great and he was an awsome seller.
Mike - Thanks for everything, you put alot of hardwork into your reply and a thank you was in order, don't worry about what happened. My current setup that I'm looking at is (haven't bought yet): Niles OS3 Outdoor Speakers from one call for $207 http://ww1.onecall.com/PID_1198.htm I'm...
I'm sorry I did not reply. All of the information was so incredible I didn't feel a reply was needed. I'm still new to this forum, and if that was bad ediquite I will try to improve. Thanks again.
Ok, got the home theater (Def Tech ProCinema 80, Yamaha RX V2200, Infocus Screenplay 7200 Projector). Replaced the 11 year old tv. Now it is time to replace the 15 year old stereo system. Since we recently got the home theater with pretty nice audio, I don't need an incredible stereo system...
I have HTPC inputed to my Infocus Screenplay 7200 and the picture is beautiful. The native resolution of the infocus is 1280X720. I get horrible headaches from the flickering of conventional crts and before I got the projector I had been using my LCD monitor which also helped a fair amount. I've...
I have the Dish 811 hooked to a widescreen projector (Infocus 7200) and the format of the programming is determined by the source, not the reciever. Only the HD channels are in widescreen, all the SD channels are still in 4:3 and there are black lines on the side. Your picture quality may be...
Out of those three for under 1k I would definatly go with Premeire. I've used Premeire for the past few years and love it (although the system requirements are pretty high).
I mostly do video editing and graphic design in 3D Studio Max, Lightwave 3D, Adobe Premeire Pro etc... Sorry, been looking at a new video card recently for stuff like this forgot most of the people here are probably more interested in gaming. For gaming I also agree 9800 Pro or 5950 Ultra are...
Video is the most resource intensive thing for a computer. For a HTPC that is usably fast I would recommend at a MINIMUM a nice Pentium 3. However atleast Pentium 4 or Athlon XP is recommended.
I saw this on ebay a while ago and was interested in it so I emailed about 15 people who gave the person feedback to ask if it worked. One of them offered to send me the kit with the fresnal lenses and instructions for free because he didn't have the time to put it together if I told him if it...
There's a seller on ebay named moakes (means speedy in latin), I purchased great screen material from him with a 10 page instruction booklet on making the frame. Complements my infocus 7200 great!
Some good general case sights: http://www.colorcases.com http://www.xoxide.com A cool and resonably priced case I just saw that comes with a free 550-watt power supply with dual led fans if you enter promotion code: geekdemon http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=DEMON
I have my HP Deskjet 6127 and love it. It has a hp jet direct wired print server built in, then just stick a cheap wireless ethernet bridge into the network slot on it and your done (or like in my case it's plugged into a wireless access point).
Look at lite-on lvd 2002 or 2001 (basically the same player). Great price (about $100), uses the new Sigma 8500 chip which is probably one of the best in it's class (although if you have the money go for the Faroudja). Also it is one of the most versatile players around even plays divx. Region...
Compare a $200 monstor cable to a $60 blue jeans cable and you'll see why. Also if size is a consideration look into Definitive ProCinema 80 system. Have them and love them. Rather small sattelite speakers, the center and sub although a bit bigger are both pretty small as well. However there...
If you looking for something even less expensive in the $100 range, the Sigma 8500 chip, although not as good as Faroudja, isn't bad for it's price. The Lite-On LVD 2002 and 2001 use that chip and produce probably the nicest picture quality in that price range, plus it's region free, macrovision...
He killed a dual processor G5, what is wrong with him. I use PCs, but only because you can build them for cheap. If I had money I'd get a one as soon as possible, PCs are great for gaming, but how I would love that for video editing. Premeire crawls on my Athlon XP 2000 w/ only 640 mb ram. If...
I'd definatly go with Adobe Encore DVD. Great software, although a bit pricy. I also personally really like the lite-on dvd/cd drives, but to each his own.
Most identity theft in stores is internal. In theory sending credit card info online is actually safer then over the phone or in the store, as when you send it online its encrypted, over the phone you can tap the line and in the store or a resturant a clerk can just write it down. However, on...
I second building your own. I built my first in fifth grade, and if I could do it then you can definatly do it with a few hours of reasearch now. Plus, you have something I didn't free unlimited tech support in these forums. You can build a really nice computer for $800 much nicer than you could...
Do a search online for Kazaa Lite Resurection. It's exactle the same as kazaa lite with a few inhancements being supported by someone different. And yes, it's free. :)
Usually secure traffic is not filtered. Find a website with a cgi proxy that supports either ssl or has url encryption. Many proxies do not have this so the webpage will still be blocked (I have had alot of experience with this). Url encryption or ssl has always done the trick. Good luck...
For video editing I use Premiere 7. I only have an Athlon XP 2000+ and 1 GB PC 2100 DDR RAM with a Geforce FX 5200 128MB DDR card and although reliable it crawls. Get the fastest thing you can afford. That's generally the bottom line for video editing as it is one of the most system intensive...
I strongly suggest dsl reports.com and a word of warning, stay away from AOL DSL if it ever tempts you, or aol in general, I have had horrible expeirences. If you want really fast, great priced dsl, and can get it, cyberonic.com offers the best raw speed for the price, however when I delt with...
