I picked up a H/K AVR225 for $224.99 USD.... I couldn't be happier, in my country a unit would cost $1092.** all said and done, cost to my door was $382.**.
My Advice:
Go Refurb whenever you can. There might be the odd occasion where you end up with problems with some peice of equipment...
Dwayne .. another thing you can try is just random TV code program codes, if you notice that programming codes are repeated through a large number of different manufacturers as the same codes are often re-used over and over. Chances are that some code will work for the TV .. just that it isn't...
I just picked up a pair of these headphones (refurbished) at XS Cargo in Canada for $19.95 (CND) but they didn't come with the Ni-CD batteries that the non-reburbs would have included in the box. The specs state that it takes 2 1.2V Ni-CD batteries (rechargable), as I don't have these batteries...
Tom, I purchased a receiver over the border (Harman Kardon AVR-225 Refurb) I had to wait 11 days for my new toy to get to me. That really sucked, I hated having to wait .. I'm one of those people who wants to play with his new toy right away. Anyhow I purchased my unit from Ecost.com I"m hear...
well I got my AVR225 the otherday and I couldn't be happier with it :) The Power / Sound quality is night and day from my old receiver (some older Panasonic- entry level DD receiver). Aside from that it's a beauty to stare at :)
I'm going to raise a pretty big fuss if HK doesn't honor the warranty for my Ecost.com purchase. I doubt it will be a huge issue, from what I know HK has great customer service. The fact that Ecost has done what they have done is very deceiving and GRRRRRRR .. I"m upset. I purchased an AVR225...
well what the flip is with the "Harman Kardon Authorized" image that is displayed at the top of each product (above each image of the product itself) ??
Eric, none of us have replied because none of us have an answer for you. I can only speak for myself hear, but I won't buy any sony products anymore :) ... I'd suggest making a post in the AV Sources forum as that is where DVD systems are discussed. Other than that contact Sony about your...
Well it is standard practice to clear out the old line, I'd imagine that HK released last years line around the same time. Weather or not it was on the same day or not ... *shrug* .. I doubt it .. but around the same time period
I'm thinking about ordering some speakers from Fluance (a center and some rears) .. and I'm wondering what the shipping cost would be for us up here in Canada, and what Duty would be like and so on .. Also an estimation at how much the HTIB systems would cost to ship for another reference...
SteveCR I would suggest the Harmon Kardon AVR7200 with your budget, it can be had for ~$899 (it sells at Circuit City for $1799.99, shows what shopping around will do for ya). This badboy is a monster of a unit though and won't fit on most standard AV tables (20.5 inches in depth). Have...
who said that ? :) just cause they aren't listed doesn't mean they aren't authorized ..... call up HK to make sure if you'd like, but i highly doubt that they would call themselves auth. if they weren't
As per the topic, I've noticed that Harmanaudio.com is no longer selling well just about anything from last years line and the Studio line that was being discontinued from JBL all seem to be done (in black at least) ... does anyone know of any E-tailers that still have them ?
Drew .. yes but what I'm saying it that the AVR325 doesn't apply for free ground shipping in the states .. http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?dpno=198743 .. notice the "Free Ground Shipping Avaialable" below the receiver image ...
Note to any canadian customer ordering from ECost ... if you decide to place an order with them, then a few days later call them up to see how your order is coming along (there is no online tracking for borderfree). Make sure you mention that you are a borderfree customer, cause I called this...
Mike, that list is out of date. There are quite a few authorised dealers not listed .... Drew there is no flipping way that Canada Post charges that much, also on the website the AVR 325 doesn't say "Free Shipping Available" with it like the 125/225 so I'd call back and make sure.
ahh Drew .. : ) I figured it out ... the "unit weight" of the HK 325 is 40 pounds ... I'm not sure how much the packaging weights bug I guess it totals upto just over 45 pounds (restriction point for free shipping across the U.S.) ... so on the HK 125 / 225 our stuff is shipped for free upto...
hmmm I dunno I ordered a HK 225 and I only paid $380 total I think I only paid $15 in shipping costs (free upto the border) then Canada Post takes over, ... lets see .. $224.99 US = $304 CAD GST / PST = $~45 Shipping + Handling = ~$35 Drew, did you give them a call and ask why...
a *rear* center is the same as a normal center, just as a left speaker is the same as the left speaker :) But yes you can pick up another center speaker later on.
