So I have a Dolby Vision Roku TV. I've always played titles in Dolby Vision just fine on HBO Max. I went to play The Batman, and it would only play in HDR10, and looked super muddy at that. I went and tried Zack Snyder's Justice League and WW84, and got the same issue. I ended up just buying The...
I'm getting frustrated with this as well. I have a TV that can technically do HDR10, but in practice the picture is unacceptably dark (and Disney+ is the worst offender by far). I prefer to keep the HDR turned off, and I can still get 4K resolution from every Roku app except Disney+ . It seems...
HDR10 only, but yes. I watch HDR content on Vudu (and recently Netflix). Now, to be honest I don't see much difference and I don't quite understand what the big deal is, but my TV isn't top tier by any means.
I checked out the new master of Star Wars: A New Hope and it looks great, it's an...
I just set up my account at home and nothing is coming through in 4K. I'm using the latest Roku streaming stick, and I stream 4K all the time from other apps. All I see is "HD 5.1" on all the titles, even the ones that are supposed to stream 4K. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?
The link between Movies Anywhere and Fandango NOW appears to be broken. I purchased a few movies on Vudu, and they populated to all my accounts except FN. I disconnected Vudu and FN and reconnected them both, and now ALL my MA titles have disappeared from FN (I didn't have many titles purchased...
Why would that be? All my digital movies are in Vudu or FandangoNOW and both those accounts are linked to MA. When Paramount and Lionsgate get on board they should just populate to each other. I only have a few titles from those studios anyway. I never did Disc-2-Digital.
Apparently linking to FandangoNOW is causing all purchased UHD titles from FN to downgrade to HD. My guess is they took it offline until they can fix the issue.
I have the exact same problem. Let me know if you find a solution, because neither iTunes or MA has been any help to me. iTunes says it's just not connected and there's nothing they can do. MA won't answer me when I asked if there's some way for them to force a disconnect on their end. I feel stuck.
I've noticed that while my Vudu titles populated to other providers (except iTunes, I'm having the same problem as everyone else there), none of the movies that were only in my Amazon and Google accounts have shown up in Vudu. There is also one Vudu title, Batman v Superman, that should have...
Connected with Vudu about 4 hours ago. My Vudu titles are showing up in other services, but not a single title from any other service has populated to Vudu yet.
Where did you get that specific time? On Vudu's forums, they were promising people "within the hour" in the wee hours of the morning.
I'm not saying I don't LIKE it, but it does seem odd that they launched without all their partners being 100% ready, especially considering it was more or less...
The Play app finally came up around 6:30am. I linked Google and Amazon just fine, but Vudu, where the majority of my movies are, was not ready, as others are finding out. Wish I could say I'm surprised. Vudu seems to be doing everything it possibly can to drive customers away lately.
You would...
I keep reading this was supposed to launch the evening of the 11th, but it's now the morning of the 12th and nothing. That movies anywhere site only shows the looping logo, and that's when I request the desktop site, otherwise on mobile it's a blank screen. There's no app available in Google...
I don't believe so. I think, like with Deadpool, they saved money by not doing a 3D conversion so they could be a little more comfortable with the R-rating.
That version was created by doing a 1080p transfer of the SE negatives and then layering the changes over the top. A 4K master would simply involve scanning the negative again at the higher resolution, then redoing any of the changes and fixes performed in 2004 and 2011.
I'd like a branching option on the first movie where option 1 has the original Fox fanfare and the original opening crawl, and option 2 just has the new silent Lucasfilm logo and the "Episode IV: A New Hope" crawl.
Disney has the physical assets in the Lucasfilm archives and can restore them any time they want (which it seems they already have). Whether they can RELEASE it is another question entirely.
Anyone else having issues with Vudu on Roku? I have the newer model Roku stick and about 2 weeks ago, it started buffering every few seconds on Vudu. It says I have insufficient bandwidth even though I have a full strong signal. My other apps on Roku work fine and even Vudu works great on...
I'm pretty sure that, strictly as written in The Force Awakens, Snoke is not *necessarily* Plagueis, but if a future Episode decided to make him Plagueis, it would fit pretty well. Certainly far less problematic than retroactively making Luke and Leia siblings.
What does it mean for a movie like this to have a 4K DI? There are digital effects in practically every shot, including things you wouldn't think (every single shot of Black Panther is CGI, for example). If the effects shots are 2K upscales, that leaves only a very small percentage of the movie...
When I was browsing Vudu I noticed that The Force Awakens 3D will be released on there digitally as well. There's no listing for the prequels yet, but with Disney having digital distribution rights but not yet disc rights for the prequels, it wouldn't surprise me if the 3D versions of those were...
Would they make these 3D/2D combo discs like Avatar and Dredd? Seems like the only way they'd be able to move many units of this. No one is going to buy 4 3D discs they can't use just to get one disc of bonus content, no matter how big of a fan they are.
Disney thinks a single 3D movie is...
It almost seems like a meta take where The Joker is AWARE that he's "The Joker", and is working on selling his brand name. Given some of the craziness that the comics have been coming up with regarding the character, I'd say anything is possible.
