    Resilient channel and in-ceiling speakers?

So you don't worry about sealing the box then? Since the sheetrock is decoupled from the joists and the speakers are mounted to the sheetrock then sealing the box would work against the resilient channel.

    Resilient channel and in-ceiling speakers?

Thanks Erik. Paradigm recommends placing 'loose' insulation behind and on either side of the speaker. How do you build 'boxes' for the speaker and what material?

    Resilient channel and in-ceiling speakers?

Would the use of resilient channels in the ceiling negatively affect the sound quality of in-ceiling speakers mounted in the same ceiling?

    cost effective sound 'proofing'

I'm getting ready to start drywalling my theater and want to do some lower cost sound proofing to the ceiling. I was thinking about some fiberglass insulation between the joists and then double drywall. I'm not expecting it to be completely sound proof, but want to make it at least bearable...

    Remote(s) question

Is there such a thing as a 'add-on' remote eye that I could wire outside the cabinet ( say, near the tv ) that would then transmit the signals to the components? The remote would be then be able to 'see' the external eye. I don't know if i'm using the right lingo, but I hope you are...

    Remote(s) question

I have my components in a cabinet with a solid wood door. How can I get my remotes to work without opening the door each time I want to use my HT? I've seen ads for 'remote extenders', but they look they just add distance to the remotes capability?

I'm considering using the new SM-60R's as my surrounds. They would be installed in the ceiling. Any tips or advice with this setup? They are going to be matched to a Mini Monitor / CC370 front setup.

    First HT questions

Ok, thanks for the replies. So, it's lowest common denominator? My tv is a JVC 32" with three inputs, the vhf/uhf input, 1 composite and one s-video. I have my cable box connected to the composite and the s-video connected to my new Marantz sr7300ose receiver. I want to be able to use...
