I'm not sure of the exact model I'll be getting...the description on the website I won it from is vague and it was posted there at the start of the football season. The model # I mentioned is just one I found on Amazon that appeared to have similar features. I will definitly wait to see which...
I'm going to go to some stores and see what this type of TV actually looks like. Considering I'll have to pay about $1,000 in taxes on this prize (which I can't really afford) I might consider selling it. It would be nice to have, and paying the $1,000 is a good deal for a TV thats valued at...
My wife just won an "LCD Projection" TV in a fantasy football contest, but I know nothing about these new big screen TVs. I probably won't receive it for a couple weeks, but all I know right now is its a "Sony 60 inch LCD Projection TV" with 3.28 million dots of resolution, Twin View Picture in...
Thats an example I didn't see anything wrong with...its a race for $1,000,000 and thats a harmless attempt to get an edge. It had the same effect as a Yield, had it worked.
I agree that no other team came out and said that they were better or superior to the other teams, the way the Weavers did. But, since some other teams (Linzes, Godlowskis, etc.) obviously hated the Weavers BECAUSE of their behavior, that means that those teams disapproved of that type of...
The only reason I could imagine that most teams got along with the Linzes is because most of the horrible things they said were only said to the cameras.
As I said before, nothing any team did was against the rules. Those tactics by the Weavers were not "not part of the game". Sure they were tactics that might turn people against them, but using the Yield will not make you liked either.
I agree that the Weavers were obnoxious, but the other 2 team's hatred toward them made me want the Weavers to win. Too bad those rude Linzes won. The funny part was how the Bransen's got exactly what they wanted...the Weavers didn't win. In the final episode, the Bransens kept saying "I just...
So how do I tell who the manufacturer is? How do I know if its "Taiyo Yuden"...especially if I'm buying online and can't read the entire packaing? For example, right now on BestBuy.com they have some Fuji CD-Rs for sale. How can I know who the manufacturer is?
I've got it figured out. I have it hooked up with a optical digital cable, but I also needed to go into the audio settings of my DirecTV box and select "Dolby Digital". Now I can get some of those select HBO shows in digital. Now if they'd only allow us non-HD users to hear all those other...
No, I'm not sure if its broadcasting in DD...is there a way I can tell, other than calling them? Many movies I watch on HBO say "Presntend in high-definition on HBO-HD and with Dolby digital 5.1 sound where available". I don't know if the DD 5.1 part of that statement is refering to the HD...
I have a Yamaha HTR-5550 receiver and I'm trying to get it to recognize a Dolby Digital signal when I watch movies on HBO through DirecTV (no, I don't have HDTV but have been told that the premium channels broadcast in DD even without HDTV). I have a digital optical cable going from my...
I can't even find one on Ebay for less than $50. A couple weeks ago, I'm sure I saw one on Radioshack.com for only $19.99...it looked analog, and was kind of cheap looking compared to what I've seen since, but now all they have is a digital meter for $49.99.
I'm not very technically inclined, so you're starting to lose me. What is meant by an "SD" HBO channel? I have DirecTv, but not HDTV. So can I hear any of these broadcasts in 5.1 and would it only be the HBO channels? Can I tell by looking at my DirecTv box, and if so what am I looking for...
At the start of a show the other day (I think it was CSI) they flashed on the screen that the show is broadcast in "5.1 surround". Does this mean I can listen to shows like this in 5.1 instead of the way I normally watch TV which is in Pro Logic? If this is the case, is there a way to find...
Can I get some opinions on which calibration disk is better, Avia or Video Essentials? Keep in mind that I'm not familiar with a lot of this technical stuff so I will probably just be using it, along with a SPL meter, to make the basic adjustments, so let me know which disk is more user friendly...
I also have a Yamaha receiver and it has a Dynamic Range setting. For this problem, should I set it to "Max", "Std", or "Min"? I will also try turning up the volume on the center speaker.
As annoying as it is to have to constantly adjust the audio when I watch a movie, I don't want my DVDs to sound like TV. But is this as annoying to everyone else? I like my explosions loud, but I can't believe that in order to hear the dialogue I have to turn it up to a level where above average...
I have a Panasonic DVD player (DVD-CV50) and when I watch a DVD the dialogue is much to quiet compared to other noises in the movie. I have to constantly have the remote in my hand to adjust the volume because in order to hear the dialogue the volume has to be up to a point where any other noise...
So, if I get a "1/8" stereo male to 1/8" stereo male cable" will this mean I can just plug an MP3 player directly into the "AUX" jack on my stereo...or will I stil need an FM Modulator or something?
I'm not sure what detail you need. I have a Panasonic stereo, which as I said is about 8 years old. It is connected to a CD changer, but the changer has not worked for years. I just took a look at the stereo and I saw that it as an AUX jack on the front of it. Would this be a place I could plug...
