Please check out Audiogon and do a search on Rotel. Used Rotel RMB-1075's are going for about $700-$800. Its a pretty popular amp so there are usally one or two being offered. Now thats a steal. I think the 2 on there just sold so you may have to wait a little bit for another one to show up on...
I was looking at some of the Onkyo stuff on ecost as well. My dad is looking for a new receiver. With Onkyo you still get a 1 year warranty (2 year for non-reconditioned). Ecost is listed on Onkyo's site as a dealer so you should be relatively safe. My experiences have been that it seems like...
Congrats!! I bought a PB12-ISD/2 a few months ago and it is awesome. I cant imagine one of the plus series subs. The guy that delivered mine didnt have a lift gate on his truck because he did mostly commercial deliveries. It was interesing to say the least helping him lift it off of the truck...
I tried searching but didnt see anything that specifically answered my question. I have calibrated with the rat shack meter and DVE. Now I want to plot my subs response on a chart. Do I play the test tones at ref (0) or do I play them at the normal level that I would listen to a movie (-15)...
Hey Mike, I just got my PB12-ISD/2 today. I snuck away from work so I could be home to accept delivery and then rushed back to work. First impression is......its BIG! I hooked it up and played the first couple minutes of LOTR: TT. WOW!! Pretty awesome! Thats without any calibration at all. I...
I second John's Loreena McKennit choice. From what I have heard a great female voice is the toughest for speakers to reproduce accurately. Loreena has an incredible voice....this comming from a guy who listens to mostly punk/hard core. I would also recommend to anyone The Chieftains. Try...
Thanks again Wayne. After talking to SVS (I think his name was Eric) I ordered the PB12-ISD/2. I gave him my room dimensions and he said that he thinks the PB12-ISD would be pushed pretty hard in my room at -15. I will let everyone know my impressions when I get it. I cant wait! Now the wife...
My main seating area is right against the open stair case going up to the next level. So its not really a wall. Wayne, if I save the money by going with the smaller sub would you recommend one of those Behringer Feedback Destroyer's? Do these things basically customize the sub to the room?
Thanks Wayne. Would you say that the PB12-ISD/2 is pretty heavy overkill for my room? Also, I am always of the "more is better" school of thought. Would the PB12-ISD be considered more than enough for my room or is it at the limits for that sub? Basically what I am looking for is a sub that...
Yes, yes I know...another SVS thread. I am looking to buy a sub soon. Before I get to the question here is my current setup. Denon 3802, B&W 603's, LCR 600, and 601's. The room is approx 20'W x 15'D x 9'H. It is not a closed room though. About 2/3 of the back is an open staircase going to the...
ugghh!! For me it was Tomb Raider (I think the second one) on the Play Station. I hate jumping games. Expecially because in Tomb Raider you could only save it at certain points in the game. It almost never failed. I would die towards the end of each section. Then you start all over again at the...
Going forward if you want a better vacuum check out Miele cannisters. They usually rank the best for allergies. They use 2 filters, and most can use HEPA filters. They are not cheap though.
Sylvester Croom is on crack. What does he mean that Zook has had an excellent career? Last time he was at Florida he was demoted from d-coordinator to special teams. He is a good special teams coach and thats it. He turned the Swamp into a beach party for visiting teams. As for Spurriers return...
 AHHHH!!! Zook is ruining the Gators. He can recruit but he cant inspire! His teams play with absolutely no heart! The defense laid down and died for LSU tonight. 2 minutes left and you let them run the ball into scoring position!! I am soooo frustrated right now!  :angry...
No sub yet. I have my mind set on a SVS PB2-ISD. I held off on the sub just because I live in a townhome and have a neighbor on one side of me.......some new people just moved in and we hear their tv all of the time and we have good walls that dont allow normal sounds through. So now me and my...
Do you guys think that the B&K ST 125.3 would be a good fit with my current setup?? Any other 3 channel amps that I should check out in the $1000 and under category? Looking at B&K, for the extra $100-$150 I might as well spring for the 3rd channel.
I am interested in getting an amp for my system. I have a Denon 3802 receiver, B&W 603's, LCR 600, and 601's for the rear surrounds. I dont want to decimate the bank account on this so I have been poking around e-bay. I am considering either a 2 channel or 3 channel amp. What is the general rule...
I am in Clearwater as well. Right on the Clearwater/Palm Harbor border. Luckily we are in the white zone so hopefully no flooding for us (knock on wood). This so going to suck. I can just imagine the mess that this storm is going to leave. Downtown Tampa is going to be toast. Hopefully the...
haha sounds like summer in Tampa. Thunderstorms everyday around 5 or 6 PM......right when I leave work  Come on winter!! Me and my car are sick of this 90 degree stuff.
I will probably be getting a new TV in a few months. So far I am 90% sure that it will be a Samsung DLP 50". Just not sure what chip I will go with at that time. Maybe the HD2+. I noticed that my cable company now has an HD cable box. So if I use that I will not need to buy an HD converter box...
I am looking to get a new radar detector and found something interesting. The V1 does not detect POP radar. Maybe not widely used but for $400 I dont see why they do not include that type of detection.
I dont have to explain anything to anyone. I speed everyday and I have had only one accident(knock on wood). That was in a parking lot backing out of a parking space about 15 years ago. This argument that if you speed you are inevitably going to kill some one is ridiculous. There is a good...
you can get live audio on OLNtv.com as well. Its the exact commentary that goes along with the live video. Thats what I listen to while I am at work. :D
Heres to the GATORS!!! Come on Zook pull your head out of your rear this year please. I am interested in seeing how the secondary shapes up. Looks like we have a big hitter in one of the safeties (like Lawrence Wright/Monty Grow for you UF fans). Leak seems to be meshing with the receivers...
Look at Beltronics RX65 ($330) or the Escort 8500 X50 ($300). The Valentine 1 is also excellent. If you want to be under $200 try the Whistler Pro 58. The more you spend the better filtering you get which means less false alarms. Also the distance that the detector can detect increases as you go...
I dont know too much about the CC6 but the LCR 600 is pretty impressive. I would not hesitate to recommend spending the extra cash on one. I love mine. But as always go to the shop yourself and have a listen.
