Inspired by Kevin Costner's passion project magnum opus of trying to create an epic western with the upcoming Horizon Parts 1 & 2 (can’t get here soon enough).
I decided to clear the dust off the shelves and tackle Two original Western Epics dealing with the westward expansion. And ended up...
Yeah, time to get off my tutus and finally jump full saddle into this!
See that long some have listed titles that they are expecting to do during this challenge and thought about doing that myself but then I would be grabbing and watching the same favorites, I’ve probably seen numerous times...
Not yet, but I am assuming that whatever Warner Brothers would be able to get a hold of via they're Holdings of MGM would probably be better Suited, just guessing
The other thing is that's the 1930 sound version, and what I'm looking for is the 1926 silent with Miss Lillian Gish.
Personally if they were to do the The Wind as a double feature would love to see it paired with a restored "T Scarlet Letter".
Victor Sjöström and Lillian Gish's - 2 films together. Also it would be the perfect chance to have a definitive presentation of Scarlet Letter instead of the horrible...
That's kind of the great thing about this challenge there is no set limit and you can move at your own speed. B westerns are short, or you can get a cliffhanger and just watch it by chapters and piecemeal it. I got like four Buck Jones serials I've need to dive into been just sitting on the...
I know it's never going to happen, but I thought you know if someday, sometime, if the current upper echelon were ever replaced and the one following one of the Lampoon some of the decisions that had been made they could remake the movie and have it that and have that film in the middle of it...
All jokes aside, I'm happy to see that this announcement was made and I hope that it does well enough that they will continue to delve into many of the silent's that they have, so many of the missing ones that have already been listed into this thread. But what I hope the most for is that maybe...
Okay finally time to go all regional Blu-ray, slow up grades to everything else, so now I need a 4K player that can be region free on Blu-rays because I'm starting to pick up a lot of stuff from the UK that's region B locked. Back in the day I would have said the Oppo but I didn't pick one up...
I'd buy a SHIRT in a second! Froggy looking Confused.
as for the MGM Shorts, don't know if those will be revisited by the Archive for an upgrade to an HD release, But would jump at the chance even the lesser ones at the end of the run still have some charm to them.
If... Archive has ideas about celebrating the MGM Anniversary I hope, that as some of the bonus features on whatever upcoming releases reflect that as well. Prime example, the release of Christopher Strong included one of the Ted Healy and Howard, Fine, Howard shorts that were produced at MGM...
Got the latest newsletter emailed, it was a great read interesting things going on over there. There is a teaser photo of something in the works for their next restoration and hopefully possible release. Any Clara Bow fans? Because they're working on "Kid Boots" if I got my picture correct. Just...
Great announcement , hopefully this will lead to the north American release of Pandora's Box with the same features as the UK release for those of us that are not yet region free.

Oh dear lord, use the outer belt in Columbus, that is unless you know your way through the city, its' kind of jacked up at times. I know 33 and 23 all to well, got to do my drivers education on those 2, as a teenager in a 1970 F-100, where my only goal was to make it to the river every weekend-...
