first off i think you have too many interconnects coming from your dvd player, to get sound... even for your cd's all you need is either the optical(toslink) cable from your dvd to your receiver, or... "I also have RCA cable connecting the DVD player's digital out to the DVD input on the back...
actually i have the DVE disk but no spl meter how would make my rear speakers more noticable? i read that the volume of the rear speakers shouldn't be really touched but for to hear anything out of them i have to turn them each up to 8 or 9 left being 9 due to the distance from my sitting position
