    Mitsubishi 65" DLP

My Sony 56" 1080p rear projection is starting to fade on me. My wife and I have had this for over 8 years and it's performed flawlessly. We're beginning our search for a replacement and have settled on getting a DLP. We have a very large living room and really like the size for the money...

    Need help choosing DLP

I'm looking for a 60", or larger, HDTV and have decided to go with a DLP. I can't choose between the Mitsubishi 60" (WD-60735) or a Samsung brand. Best Buy has the Mitsubishi for under $1000 this weekend. I've found a Samsung 67" (HL67A510) for $1500 (which includes a stand) at CompUSA. Is the...

Upgrading Receiver, need pros and cons on selection

Wayne, You mention the RX V1400. I can't find any difference between that and the HTR 5790. Are there any differences?

Upgrading Receiver, need pros and cons on selection

:emoji_thumbsup: Thanks for all the great information. The more and more I read about the Yamaha 5790, the more I like it. I definitely like the YPAO feature of the Yamaha. My setup will be in the Great Room of my new house, Audio equipment above the fireplace, Sony 52in Widescreen in a...

Upgrading Receiver, need pros and cons on selection

I'm upgrading my Receiver from a Sony STR DE675. Nothing but good things to say about it. Never had a problem. New house being built, new Proficient in ceiling speakers, time to upgrade the Receiver. My builder has an Home Theater guy, so all my pre-wire is included in the House. How sweet is...

    Question regarding DVI cable

Thanks a bunch for the information :emoji_thumbsup: You all are correct, the Monster DVI cable was expensive. I did return it for the Monster3 Component, which was only slightly cheaper. Just wanted to stick with Monster since that's what all my other cables are. Has anyone compared the...

    Question regarding DVI cable

I have the DCT-5100. The only thing I could find in the manual was a small blurb that stated "connect to your HDTV using a DVi-D Dual Link cable." I really don't know how much better the DVI cable can be over the Component, because it looks fantastic.

Sony KP-51WS510 and general RPTV questions from a newb

Jason, Wide Zoom does indeed look better than Zoom. I'm pleased that even watching College Football, like you said, the score boxes stay on-screen. I think what I'll do is set Full as the default, so that Anamorphic DVD's and HD will be Full, and just change my viewing of SD Feeds to Wide Zoom...

Sony KP-51WS510 and general RPTV questions from a newb

Guess I left that out. I've got the Sony 51" KP-51WS510. The SD Feed looks fine. I use the Full Mode all the time, so SD is stretched, but after a month I can't even notice. IMO, the size more than makes up for any flaws.

Sony KP-51WS510 and general RPTV questions from a newb

I just recently purchased the Sony 51" you are looking at and I'm very pleased with it. I have windows right behind the couch with minimal glare. I do have plantation blinds over them. A 16x9 set has an aspect ratio of 1.78:1, so there is some very slight Letterboxing with most Action and...

    Question regarding DVI cable

First of all, Hello everyone, I'm new here. Purchased the Sony 51" Widescreen, KP-51WS510, a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. Also, got my HDTV box from Comcast and WOW, I'm truly blown away. I purchased a DVI cable from Circuit City and was told that it would work. When I plugged it...
