And a third option... I sort of like this one becaue the tv is at a better angle from the couch, but it does leave the chair by the firplace out of the surround sound. That's more of a reading chair anyhow though

In-Wall vs. In-Ceiling for 7.1 side and rear

Hello all, I have decided to go with either in-wall or in-ceiling for all of my surround speakers in a 7.1 setup. I have already purhchased a pair of Klipsch SCW-3 speakers, and am looking to buy a second pair if Vann's decides to restock them. If not, the second pair will be the SCW-2's with...

UH OH- In-Walls ordered, but can they be used on outside wall?

Hello All, Well, I made a quick decision to buy a package from Vann's that included a Pioneer VSX-815S and a pair of Klipsch SCW-3 in-walls for our tv room in a new construction. I had planned to use the in-walls for the sides, while using my existing bookshelves for rears, but got to...

Hello all, I am currently going back and forth between these two televisions. I was set on the Sony until a quick trip to Best Buy set my size sites a bit higher when I saw the Panny. I haven't been able to compare them at length for picture quality yet though. Price was leading me towards...

Dilema: Sell the old school for good lookers?

Thanks for the help guys. I have to apologize, I have been living in an apartment and out of the home theater loop for a few years. My original hope was that the technology had progressed enough that satellite systems like the JBL system above would sound as good as my old speakers. Now...

    HD Pack no longer available???

One of the cords was dropping out on me (not sure what each color cord transfers, sorry). Everything would get a green tint to it. Replaced the component cords and it has been fine ever since.

    HD Pack no longer available???

I have the original set of official HD plugs for the Xbox and had problems with the included component cables from day one. I had an extra set laying here, so didn't return them. Maybe I'll pick up a new one to see how it works.

    logitech controller?

Did you try the Connect button on the reciever? Also try unplugging and replugging the reciever. I just picked up this controler a couple weeks ago and had mine kick off once. Used the 'unplug' solution here.

Just got DVR, now my HDTV won't let me adjust picture size

Also try the # button on the keypad of the cable remote. On the Hi-Def model of the SA DVR this cycles thru the cable boxes stretch modes. Not sure if it would work on standard DVR or not.

Looking for budget DVD for my Ma for xmas

Right now I'm looking at the Toshiba SD-4900 or the Panny DVD-S25S. Picture quality isn't a great big concern, but I need a player that won't have problems playing back DVD-R's. I'm planning on getting a Memorex burner for my PC soon, and would like her to be able to playback movies of her...

Scientific Atlanta / Pioneer Cable Remote

Due to Ohio's Time Warner Cables inability to offer the SA Explorer 8000HD (HD version of its DVR unit) I am currently using the 8000 (regular DVR) and the Pioneer High Def box. I have each unit hooked to a different input on my Sony Kp-51WS510. The problem I have with this setup is that the...

I pick up my new RPTV this week, and now I'm looking for a quality DVD player to go with it. As of right now I am using my PS2 for all DVD playback. I would like to keep it around $200 and if possible silver. Of course I will take picture quality over color any day. Also, I have no desire...

What RPTV to buy for under $1800?

OK, after reading the burn in thread, I'm a bit worried about the 4:3 sidebars. My wife watches a lot of regular tv, and I'm not sure how she'll adapt to stretched modes. What brands have the best stretch mode out there?

What RPTV to buy for under $1800?

I believe I have the room, but I live in an apartment and routing the wires would be a pain. My only concern with projectors is bulb life. This is going to be my primary tv, and a 1500 hour bulb will last about 6 months around here. I do plan on getting a DLP projector for a dedicated...

What RPTV to buy for under $1800?

I am currently looking for a replacement for my 42" Sony 4:3 RPTV. I am looking somewhere in the $1500 - $1800 range (the $1500 being my wifes preference). My current favorite is the Sony KP-51WS510. I also like the Panasonic PT-53WX53, but have seen many posts about the 'Evil Pop' on this...
