hey all, not sure how dead this thread is, but im considering picking up a 75" x900e
best buy reviews are pretty much all positive, however when i look at amazon, i see a considerable amount of complaints about the displays not working any more (bars on screen) and some other display related...
Holy crap! The dent thing is a famous scam?!?! I had some guys approach me with it, but I didn't know it was a famous scam. I thought it was just a regular scam.said no, cause I always say no.
Side note, I also was targetted for the white van scam. What are the odds!?
i am by far no expert.
i do know that if you have your mains set to large, you wont get anything out of your subs in some cases.
check your settings on your mains and change them to small if they arent already
again, robert is the man, and im just an amateur, but the first thing i figured out...
the problem is very likely the receiver setting for the sub that robert mentioned.
i was having the same problem as you, and then i changed my sub setting from 0 to +3db, and whammo!
it is neat, and i didnt know where to begin either heres my thread somewhere in there is a list of tools you will need (list is on the last page i think)
robert i put felt pads under my subs, mainly so i can move them around easily on my wood floors. but now i dont need to move them around much if ever. im wondering if the footing matters much at all. my google search didnt help. would the ideal situation be having the sub bolted down...
robert technical question about sub cabinet stuffing: what is the effect of more or less polyfil? all i know is it apparently makes the driver think it is in a bigger cabinet, but i dont know what effect that has
finally finished my 2 15"ers one in the box empty cabinet all finished, next to one of my D8s just imagine 2 of each, cause thats what there is, but i didnt see a need to post two pics this time :D
any reason you want to have the sub the same brand as the fronts and center? its unnecessary, and probably you will end up sacrificing a little in either the speakers or the sub. i can tell you right now, the recommendation you will receive for the fronts and center will be 'go listen to...
n30k, subwoofer can be powered, which means it has a built in amp. you have to plug that subwoofer into an outlet and run pre-amp outputs from your receiver to the subwoofer inputs. subwoofer can be passive as rob mentioned, which is just a box with a driver(speaker, woofer, whatever you want to...
you get the MDF at homedepot basic finishing options i am aware of are paint, veneer, and speaker carpet. if you are talented, you can do some creative combination stuff or whatever you like. you can look at my thread and see my towers done in flat black. i like the look and think they came out...
oh yeah, glue and screw. i forgot about that option. i guess clamps arent needed after all with regards to getting the wood cut at homedepot, thats what i do, but i give them slightly larger measurements and i use a router with a flush trim bit to cut off the excess. as indicated, if they cut...
apn, you sound like i did i built the D8 towers without a clue about how things worked and how they would sound. im quite happy with them. do they sound good? they sound good to me. they sound as good or better to me as the $2000 a pair speakers i heard at best buy. that could be because i have...
You dont absolutely need a router. that parts list was from my tower build which i needed to flush mount the speakers. you dont need to flush mount the subwoofer. you can use a compass and make the required circle and jigsaw it out. it wont be a perfect circle, but it wont need to be.if you look...
