Also note that some DVDs which are on dual layer isn't really a true dual layer. An example would be the manufactuer's not maxing out the bitrate for both video and audio their full potential to take up the capacity of the disc. Bonus/extras do not count for this.
Oh I see. My assumption was that the universal remote was a learning remote so the setup option would of been accessable. If you have a friend that has a Panny unit, you could borrow theirs just for this purpose and give it back.
- Have a look at the components inside - Part numbers REP on the PCBs which is Panasonics MFG naming convention. - The H02/H07 errors also happen on this unit just like the Panasonics. The way to repair it, just get Panasonic replacement parts. - The daughterboard is identical to the RP82’s...
If you look on the AVS, you'll find one experienced member who know this stuff and is known for the Panasonics. The Denon 1600 is also included because it's a Panny inside. Region jumps have happened before either because of hiccup or firmware updates. The way around it is the use of the...
Kevin not quite. One problem about doing it yourself is that the optical pick up would need to be recalibrated because the unit was calibrated for the existing part. ------------------------- John, you can easily get it repaired. Have a look at AVS forums. One member is very experenced...
They would also convert to 540p as well. There was a discussion in the past saying that the when the very first HDTVs came out - Panasonic had one which did native 720p. Word that it wasn't out for long because it costs too much because high quality parts were needed to be able to perform 720p.
Yes that is correct. Apparently there is word going around that the S97 will phase out and the S77 will be there just without the HDMI cable. It's been mentioned at AVS several times.
I don't exactly have this set but I do have the little brother model (57TWX20B). The 65" is a two piece cabinet so it can be taken apart if you can't get it into your house. The TWX is one of the best ones back at the time and I can say I enjoy this one to this day - That is also my first...
John, Nice link!! I was wondering about that too but I didn't bother since I calculated by hand to find out the ratio using a calculator to get an approximate! =)
Hi ToddF, You could the the Service Center located on Panasonic's site to find the one near your area. You you won't be able to find a Panasonic Factory Service Center because that's in TX but you will find authorized dealers for repair. The was a Panasonic FSC in WA which was in my area...
Elinor, I have read about it and seen it in person myself. I've looked at Panasonic LCD RPTVs at BB and various brand DLPs where I've seen the patterns up close. The pictures for LCDs/DLPs do look nice too as I've seen some in stores with good source hook ups.
Ellinor, LCDs do have another limitation which is the screen-door effect. That will definately affect the the PQ with the other things mentioned earlier. Note the limintation with CRT RPTV, you're referring to more like how to take care of them and how to view it. Well, use a CRT tube...
Well LCDs do have their weak point like response time and limited and contrast and blackness ratio while CRT tubs and RPTVs don't have a limit. Jeff went into a bit more detail of what I said but the information is correct. The information I posted was from my local ISF.
peter, I don't have those equipment but I repaired all my units - RP82 units, RP56 and 91 since I know how to fix them. I also have multiple of the same units as well. I've also calibrated/tweaked my units up for optimum read performance.
Just to make sure. "H02" is a grey area because it could mean spindle motor or optical or both since the SVC Manual doesn't specify the fault. So as Greg said, perform the push start to verify if it is the motor. The way to test for optical is to perform the DVD laser test and see the...
Yup the two processes is correct. If you're trying to bring up the menus while the unit is stopped, you need to press "Display" 3 times before the menu does appear, otherwise it's once during playing. Luckily for the RP82/62/56 and some others, they have a LED light which indicates...
Personally I don't have this set since I have a Hitachi 57TWX20B RPTV, but a relative of mine is going to get the 34HFX84 since he saw it first had and it's a good size for his place (RPTVs too big to him!!).
Gregg, I'm WA and have the Hitachi 57TWX20B. My question is have you calibrated one of these if you did, what are your experiences? Also how much would it cost for calibration if it were to be done (est. $400)? Probably won't be any time soon since this set hasn't been broken in yet since...
The cinema series also have better tubes(even thou the specs say the same tubes) than the signature series which result in having a better PQ image. It looks like the cinema series is exclusive to Canada generally because it's on the CDN website while the US website has no reference to them.
