The T762 is simply the best receiver for its price. In fact, its much better than many more expensive receiver. You have to hear it to believe it :) And like Mark Dickerson said in an earlier post, even the T742 sounds much better ! My recommendation, listen to them both and make your decision...
About the noisy fan, this issue has been fixed over a year ago. In fact all the problems are now gone. Just make sure the software version is 1.18 or higher and your ok. To check this, hold video and (.. another one for a few seconds :) ). If 6 channels is fundamental to you, then this is a...
Alan, I'd gladly go the refurb way if I lived in the state. I don't think Yawa ships to Canada, and NAD wouldn't honor the warranty. If I convert it to CDN $ + potential shipping/handling/duty/canadian taxes ! (on something bought in the states go figure...) it would come to 1226 $ (thats with...
Keep us posted on your impressions Johnny :) Again, (not working for them... altough that'd be kind of great) from what you are saying, NAD seems like the best choice for you. Now it all comes to what you have prefered in your tests. Good luck
No worries Carlo, I already tought about that (esp after reading the threads here :) ). In fact, I usually am very good at dealing pretty much anything, but when it comes to high end Audio in specialized stores, I feel somewhat... less at ease. I mean those people are normaly nicer toward their...
I am myself shopping in Canada (Quebec) for a receiver in the same price range. I've spent quite a while going from stores to stores and listening to many different receiver. The good news is that in the 1000$ CND price range, you'll probably end up buying something great, whatever it is. Now...
Hi JamieS, I see you're from Nova Scotia, so I guess your prices are from over there. The 3 dealers I visited yesterday were all extremely fixed on their prices : 1300 $ 752 and 900 $ 742. That's it. The best they can do is no taxe. Any store recommendations ? I had the chance to audition...
Thanks to both of you. I checked on NAD's web site and there are 5 autorized dealer in my home town (montreal). I don't think they sell refurb though. So I guess NAD is the way to go :) Never had bad experience with channels stopping to work or similar stuff ? I'd be mad as hell if such a huge...
Arrrrrrrrrrg you guys are terrible ! I started with a sub 300 $ US budget and after reading this wonderful board I'm considering moving on to a much bigger budget (at this point, you should all feel horribly guilty). Well that being said, I'm still trying to stick to the smallest amount of $$$...
Thanks for the reply :) Well I'd go for the 5650 but check this : 5550 : 368 $ Can (thats including taxes and all) 5650 : 506 $ Can You see, there is somekind of a huge difference : In which Futureshop did your friend find that deal ? I'm very interested :))
Thanks for the input. Are there any known differences between this year and last years yammie ? (other than the obvious ones like 6.1 discreet) Also, since someone was asking, I'm from Montreal, Quebec. Any other suggestions ? THanks a lot !
Well, I've been intensly reading reviews/posts about receiver for the last few days and I'm getting more and more confuse. At first I was set on the Yamaha HTR 5550 at 199 $ US (great deal and they ship to Canada). It pretty much had all I needed. Still one thing I'm not to sure about : The 56xx...
Hi there, I currently have 4 Paradigm Titans and a CC230. My sub will be a D-box 303 (currently have Utterly crappy sub). I am currently using a Pioneer VSX-D409 which I simply hate. Now, I've heard many people saying that all receivers under 400 $ (US) were the same, but I don't agree. I...
