    720p

Jack, the local networks all use either 720p or 1080i...I think Fox is still using 480i/p but they plan on upconverting this fall. Each networks' web site should be able to let you know.

Used InFocus 7200 FP for < $5000 - good deal?

Thanks everyone. Much appreciated advice. I hope they drop quick...I figure I can only spend $3k on the fp. I really, really want 720p native. May not happen.

Used InFocus 7200 FP for < $5000 - good deal?

OK. After much, much lurking on this forum, I've decided to spend my $5K on a FP, a DIY screen, Zenith DirecTC STB, Songy DVD player, TiVo and keep my existing Yamaha reciever and Boston Acoustics speakers. I will be pulling triggers from now until December when I finally move into my place and...

Please Please Please Help Me With My TV

If you insist "satisfaction guaranteed" is what it says. Demand that they take it back and they ultimately will. I had an issue with a table saw that was quite expensive and I got the runaround. They ultimately took it back.

    DLP, CRT, LCD RPTV's...

I also have been asking similar questions and have found the forum too "busy" or otherwise to chime in. After doing research I have the same feedback Torngy has. I have seen the 50" thin bezel Samsung DLP on the net for $2999.....the local HH Gregg was asking $3999 for it - way over...

    720p

That leaves you with LCD, plasma or DLP. I'm not sure than any RPTV are 720p native, are they?

Buying this week, need help from Sanyo PLV-Z1 owners

Wow, what an amazing story Robert. Let me ask you (and the forum) this....I have $3.5k USD to spend on my Display. Can you believe that's all she would give me? Anyhow, if you had $3500 USD what, knowing what you now know, would you have purchased?

    720p Capable RPTV?

Kevin, good observations. My first insinct was to go with the DLP, but I have $5k to spend and I need to get HDTV, DVD player, PVR, and a Dish System. Fortunately I have 5.1 surround already or I'd be in a heap of trouble. So, I was thinking $3k on the display and $2k on the other stuff...

    720p Capable RPTV?

Kevin, thanks for the reply. I really, really want 60"+ HDTV pictures and DVD's will still look stunning, right? I mean, most of the HDTV broadcast material is in 480p or 1080i anyway, right? I'm thinking the Pioneer Elite series might be the way to go, but it seems like alot of extra...

    720p Capable RPTV?

Is there such a thing? I'm asking about native scan rates, not bringing down from 1080i or converting from 480p, etc. Is 720p the gold standard as far as affordable display devices are concerned? HDTV is only broadcast is 1080i, 720p and some in 480i (Fox?). DVD's are 480p for the most part...

    Replacement for Yamaha RX-V495

Most of my budget will be spent on the monitor in revamping my HT. Therefore, I do not want to change the above mentioned receiver....though I do not think it has good video inputs....if my TV has enough video inputs can I get away with this receiver for decent sound? Came with Boston Acoustics...

    Best $3000 RPTV

OK. I love the Samsung DLP but my wife won't let me spend $5000. So, what is my best option for watching DVD Movies and HDTV sports programming for $3000? Which RPTV? Also, what inputs, at a minimum should I have for this set up?
