Do most people use FPTV for day to day viewing or for mostly DVD's and HDTV? I guess my concern is the bulb life in the FPTV.

The equipment I am referring to is the higher-end DVD players for example the Denon DVD-2200 or the Sony ES DVP-NS999ES which appear to have an Audio Out for Front L-R, Center, Surround L-R, and Subwoofer as well as the Digital Out for the Coaxial and Optical.

Can anyone tell me the difference between Audio Out and Digital Out and what are the benefits of one over the other if any?

Can anyone tell me why the decibels on the receiver go down as the volume goes up? I was under the impression that the larger the dB number the louder the sound. For example 100dB would be louder than 50dB. But it appears that on the receiver the dB number goes down as the volume goes up.

The equipment is a Denon AVR-3803, Klipsch RF-35 for the front speakers, RC-35 for the center, RS-35 for the surrounds, and KSW 12 subwoofer. With a Sony WEGA KV-32XBR400 TV, but I would like to upgrade to a 60" Plasma in 2 to 3 years.

What is a good room size for a HT? I am looking to build one as part of finishing the basement. Also should there be anything special on the room walls, like cloth or foam? (i.e. Movie Theater)
