    Athena AS-P series subs. Opinions?

Unfortunately my shake the house with my asp-6000 ended abruptly when the plate amp fried. Talked to my dealor who is 3 hours away and they agreed to replace it. Hope this is not a trend? It was a year old. James

Yeah, the Yamaha remote also controls everything, however it doesn't work on the wife. James

    Denon 3805 Yamaha Rxv2500 Set UP ?

I researched both heavily just 2 months ago and had no problem with the adjustments on the Denon. I found either sounded excellent and my decision was made based on the remote. I hated the Denon remote so I bought the Yamaha. Buy the one you like, don't let others decide for you. James

    Athena AS-P series subs. Opinions?

Funny, I don't find it boomy at all. I've been rattling the house now for about 40 years so my wife is used to it. I find that on music, I use a crossover of 60 on the sub and leave the f1s as large. If I use 80 then I start to get some boom. The Yamaha 2500 auto equalization sets the sub output...

    Athena AS-P series subs. Opinions?

The crossover has marking for Athena speakers which for an F1 translates at 50. I questioned Athena about that setting since it ignores the rest of my speakers. Joe Frasier of Athena stated that it was best to set up the system so the sub integrates with the front mains so both music and movies...

    Athena AS-P series subs. Opinions?

I have as asp6000 with a Yamaha 2500 and f1s, asc1 and r1s. I bought this sub back in mid July and so far I am really pleased with it. Previously I had tried an asp400 which sounded good but had limited volume. I have not tried the asp4000 at all so I have no opinion there. I am running this sub...

    Athena Speakers

I am slowly switching over to Athena. I have used the c1 for about a year and everyone comments of how realistic the vocals are. I plan to add a p400 sub and b1s for the back yet. Next year I plan to change the receiver, probably to a Nad T762 or whatever is the current model at that time, for I...

    Athena Speakers

I have previously stated that my AS-F1s were quite bright and irritating with my JVC 7010. I pursisted with these speakers for five weeks playing them as much as possible each day (could not leave them running) and after about 100 hours they have dramatically changed. The highs have smoothed out...

    Athena Speakers

I have been using an asc1 for about a year a with a JVC 7030 and based on it's performance I recently purchased asf1s to match with it. I am finding things a little on the bright side which is irritating on music. This does not happen on dvd movies so it is confusing. I purchased a yamaha cd...
