Well, you CAN NOT hear it. Unless it is very low frequency without any other frequencies and you ear is very close, I mean close to the driver. It is more of a rattling sound, as if something very light is touching the cone.
Anyone ever experienced a vibration noise coming from what appears to be the foam surround on a woofer? While it is only noticeable at about 6" from the woofer, I'm curious if this warrants concern as this could be signs of a problem occuring. It is only heard at frequencies of less than 140hz...
I picked up my Forests from Bay Bloor Radio. I had been searching for TOtem dealers in the niagara and toronto area. Because they are manufactured in CA, I figured I could find some great deals on these speakers. I had spoken with one of the sales guys up there for a couple of months prior to...
They only way to tell if speakers are good is to listen to them, YOURSELF. Everyone has a different opinion. Do not waste your money on something that you potentially may not like.
Several times $800 will certainly get you a MUCH better speaker than those Axioms Wes. Yes they are good for the money. But they are not $2500 speakers.
My moon equipment runs silent, no fans, completely enclosed with ZERO grilles. It does JUST FINE without them, as do many others. It is just smart engineering.
Having a fan in your components is just an easy thing to go wrong. Fans certainly have a lifespan and fall easy prey to dust. I personally would not buy a component with a fan, for the sheer fact that how come other manufacturers can do just fine without one?
The left, right and center channels are really all you have to match, I suppose. There isn't going to be THAT much difference between high quality amps, regardless of what anyone says about them being "warm" or "flat" yada yada.
I run a Moon I-5 Integrated for my stereo speakers and a Marantz 6200 for the home theater. Like BruceD is doing, I just run the left and right preouts to the I-5 and switch the channel during HT.
My fathers old school onkyo amplifier had a watt meter on the front. At MOST it rarely reached 10watts. At average listening volumes it was around 1-4watts if that.
Has anyone demoed these two amplifier manufacturers head to head? I currently own a Simaudio I-5 (for the mains) and am looking to buy all new amps for center and the mains. I've heard great reviews about the odyssey's mono blocks and considering they are significantly less in price, I want to...
