    Spyware? Random advertising popups

Proper name for this is "Net Bios Spam" It is ported in thru ports 135-140. Simply turning off "windows messaging" (admin tool) is not the way to do this (other programs may need the ports). You need either a software solution like zone alarm, black ice or similar firewall or if you are on DSL...

Anyone reformat the HD on their Win XP machine?

If you have ANY sensitive data on the drive I would suggest a third party format tool (security version) or a Low Level format to 0 write the drive. Reason is this, you can format and repartition that drive, send it to me and I will recover all the data that was on it in about 1 hour. Anyone can...

Anyone reformat the HD on their Win XP machine?

I prefer NTFS, I like being able to secure individual folders from prying eyes. FAT32 can not do this. The drop in performance is really not noticeable in the everyday world.

    how bout them dells?

There was a time when Dell was a great way to go. They used to have great service and product, now they are just the same as any other maker. With very few exceptions you are best to find a local builder (most any pc shop) and go that way. IF you order a system and it craps out you will get...

I run the USB65 which has front side USB only. All you do is take the connections from the front ports (LIAN provides) and plug them into the existing MB headers. (provided your motherboard has provisions). If you are running AMD I would suggest something like the Abit NF7-S board. It...

I recently did a cost per image calculation for printing my own stuff, Well bottom line is this, It ended up costing me about .04 more per print than to take the files to a local photo shop and have them put them on silver iodide. Go figure.

OK, good folks, does this exist?? Ever??

Well to be honest with you I in my years as a tech have not seen that combo for a PC. Sound and Modem yes. My guess is that it is an impractical combo for a PC due to fact that it is possible to have both connections active at one time realistically and that would create a IRQ problem going thru...
