    DTS-NEO 6, H/K's "Logic 7", Dolby Pro Logic II...which is best?

    Thanks for the reply. What's the technology used though? Is DTS-NEO 6 vs. Dolby Pro Logic II in the analog world comparable to DTS vs. Dolby Digital in the digital world? Is Logic 7 anything like DPLII, does it use any of the same methods of surround or is this some new surround method...

    Working with stereo sound in receiver

    Do you have your speakers set to "small"? Some receivers don't send any sound to the Sub channel if the speakers are set to large.

    DTS-NEO 6, H/K's "Logic 7", Dolby Pro Logic II...which is best?

    I recently bought a refurb'd Harman Kardon AVR-525. I've got it connected with 7.1 speakers. The manual is very vague when talking about the different surround modes though. I know what DTS and DD is when it comes to DVD's, so no problem there. But when listening to music or analog...

    pc->stereo go boom

    Sounds like something's wrong with your video card. That's the only item that's common in both instances. You connected Svideo to your video card and TV and fried your TV. You connected RCA to your video card and stereo video input and fried the input.

    What is better? DTS or Dolby Digital?

    Then you come to other DVD's that are encoded in DD 5.1 and DTS 6.1...so anyone with a 6.1 system would want to use the DTS track. Personally if the DVD is capable of DTS then I turn it on. I know some mixes are worse for DTS than DD on a DVD but it's rare. I'm sure the capabilities of...

    Best Subwoofer for under $200

    Thanks for the replies. The JBL 12 inch costs more than $200. In fact the best price I've found on the JBL 10 inch is $189. The AR is way more expensive...you must have gotten a good deal on that one. I think I'll recommend the JBL PB10 to my friend at $189. It got good reviews and the price is...

    Best Subwoofer for under $200

    This is for a friend who bought my old receiver, but his old Sub won't work with my receiver (it requires a signal through a ribbon cable from the old receiver it came with). So I wanted to find out from those in the know what would be a great budget Subwoofer for under $200.

    I've got a Harman Kardon 525 with 5.1 Aperion speakers w/12" sub and I'm still lost

    Actually I wasn't talking about the difference between DD and DTS. I mean on a DTS track, an explosion will have soft base, then a song will start and the base in the song is groundshakingly loud. The Ezset feature didn't seem to work properly. It started pumping up the level of every channel...

    I've got a Harman Kardon 525 with 5.1 Aperion speakers w/12" sub and I'm still lost

    I just got a H/K 525 receiver to hook into my Aperion 5.1 speaker set. But after doing that, the sound left much to be desired. Also with the 12" sub, it doesn't sound very loud with explosions, but it sounds super load with the base from music in a movie (such as all the rap music in The Fast...

    Upgrading from 5.1 to 7.1. rear speaker placement

    Right now I have a 5.1 setup with the rear speakers beside the listening area facing each other but about 5 ft off the ground. I'm getting a 7.1 receiver delivered to me (H/K AVR-525) and I was wondering where I should place the rear speakers in the 7.1 setup? I want to keep the other rears...
