I believe that the region coding of DVD players was made illegal by the Australian government, so hopefully they will apply the same rules to Blu-ray and HD DVD if they insist on implementing region coding. I can see Australia having a large exporting industry of next-gen players in the future...
Unfortunately not, Mike! The current Blu-ray recorders from Sony, Panasonic and Sharp are not compatible with the new BD ROM format to be used for pre-recorded discs. Steve
Rob, Euro1080 have been on air since 01/01/04. The QS-1080IR receiver available from a couple of suppliers in the UK does indeed have a DVI output, in addition to RGBHV and component. Hope this helps. Steve

I've heard that Fremantle won't be remastering them in anamorphic widescreen like those few DVDs released a few years ago. I think those looked great in widescreen and certainly didn't look like they were filmed 25+ years ago - apart from the kipper ties and dodgy barnets! :)
