Right now I have a 5.1 system with a 32" wega. I have a DVD player hooked up with S-Video and a digital coax cable for DTS/Dolby sound, my sat receiver is hooked up with S-video and RCA's for sound. I want my xbox to have 5.1 surround which I can do because I have an unused optical input...
I'm not a home theater nut like most of you here :P but I do want the best out of my system. It isn't anything special, but it does me good. I currently have a Sony Wega 32" Flat screen (non-HDTV) and a Kenwood HTB-454 Home theater in a box. I am just wondering if it would benefit me any in...
I have a Kenwood HTIB I believe its htb-454 .. anyways, I think it is a great system, although it seems to be lacking in the bass area.. it's pretty good for movies, but music seems to lack.. especially in the low range. I want to get a powered subwoofer but I don't know if I can hook it up to...
I don't think the subwoofer is powered.. if that was so, wouldn't it have to be plugged into an outlet? I just have to hook up the two speaker wires from the reciever to the sub and thats it. Maybe it is clipping, I only notice this when it is turned up very loud and in very loud scenes in...
Ok, that is a possibility. I have everything flat right now, I didn't adjust the DB levels of the individual speakers. Maybe I should try putting the sub into the minus's?
Hey, I have a Kenwood HTB-455 system, as soon as I got it I upgraded all the speaker wires to 16guage monster cable. I have a good monster coax cable from the DVD player to the receiver. Anyways, I find that when I turn it up to about 5 (max is 0) sometimes I hear a few pop's in certian movies...
Ohhh ok.. so the DVD/6ch input is what I use.. I was a little confused because I thought I had to hook up 6 channels or something if I did that.. DVD/6ch just means I could hook up either? Thanks again for the info, I will get the cable and give it a go :)
I am reading the manual, the thing sucks :frowning: .. maybe it's just me lol. This is how I have it hooked up right now: The Kenwood receiver has 2 Svideo Inputs and one output. Monitor Out, DVD/CD and Video2. Right now I have my DVD player hooked up to the DVD/CD svideo jack, the TV...
I have a kenwood htb-455 system.. and a toshiba sd-1200 DVD player (it's an older model, but still works great) .. anways, I want to hook the dvd player up to my receiver with a digital coaxil cable. So on the back of the dvd player there is a Bitstream/pcm Audio out .. and it says to use a...
Oh, it's worse here :O( -- We got Futureshop which is way over priced, and a couple of other smaller stores which are also over priced. Not very much selection at all. Just the main players like Kenwood, Sony, Toshiba etc.. none of the good bang for the buck stuff.
Thanks again guys, I will pick one up asap. I will get someone over to put that end on the coax cable properly too. I have a feeling that a lot of my money is going to be spent because of these forums :P
This may be a repost, but the search function isn't working and I am new to the forums, so go easy on me :) Does anyone know when the Pulse DVD may be coming out? I really really really want it on DVD.
Thanks a heck of a lot guys, you have been very helpful. When I get off work I will check that out. I will buy a proper cable for it :) So basically it looks like a regular RCA cable except there is only one end?
So I only have to run the one cable? I still need the L/R RCA's that I already have hooked up though right? What should the input say on the back of the kenwood receiver?
I'm pretty sure it's not the receiver itself. I have a dual LNB and the other one is done right, I have used this receiver on that one and worked fine before, i'm pretty postitive that its the cable and/or the connector.. what I am trying to find out is if that could actually cause problems with...
Thanks for all the help so far, it is greatly appreciated :) So your saying that I should hook up my DVD player a different way? I think I did notice the orange connector there. How do I do this? I notice on my Kenwood receiver that I have a 6 channel audio input? there is like 6 rca inputs...
Vin, I have everything running through the kenwood receiver. Svideo from DVD to the receiver, svideo from sat receiver to the kenwood, and from the kenwood to the TV. For audio connections I only have two sets of RCA cables. One from the sat receiver to the kenwood and one set from the DVD...
I do definitely plan on getting the cable fixed, but I was just curious if this *could* be the source of the sound problem.. is it very likely, or should I be looking somewhere else?
I'm new to the whole home theater so please bare with me. The background noise is there when I use anything that uses all speakers, the "play movie" option or "pro logic" when watching from the sat receiver. All the modes seem fine when watching from the DVD player. I probably wouldn't...
Hey everyone, I am new to the forums, wanted to say hey! :) I have a Kenwood HTB-505 system that I just got. I upgraded to monster 16 guage wireing right away. Anyways, evertying works fine except when I use surround sound from my RCA DirecTV sat receiver I get background noise through the...
