I am looking at both these receivers and am having a hard time deciding. I need some help here please. What is your opinion?? Or is it worth breaking out the $$$ and going for the THX Ultra2 Certification and going with the Denon AVR4802R.

Greg let me know what you find. I was as surprised as you. I am in the market for either the Pro530 or the new Samsung DLP's. The conversation started from a "what do you think" comparison btwn the Pro 530 and the new Samsung 50" DLP. That's when he told me the Pioneer was on it's way out...

I am fairly new to HT and am a little:confused:so this question may sound dumb. On a 7.1 receiver you have a surround back R & L speaker terminal. But since I am using a 6.1 set-up I have only one rear speaker. Do I connect it to the back R or L? Any help here is appreciated.

Thanks Mark! I have been looking at M&K's site recently and will have to check out the others mentioned. The front of the nitch will be speaker cloth mounted around a frame that will cover the opening, so the speaker can sit about an inch from the edge. I know it is less than perfect design...

I am looking at the Pioneer Elite Pro530HD. It has 2 DVI input's but I just found out that Pioneer's DVI input does not support 720p, only 480p and 1080i. However the 530HD's component video input will support all 3, 480p..720p..1080i. I also noticed that the DVI input on the Sony is similiar...

Thanks again Rob. Please pardon my ignorance, this HD stuff is all new to me. I believe the Pioneer does not have the receiver built in, is that correct. I also heard that the Pioneer has a better line doubler and stretch modes but the may be redundant again. Any help here is very much appreciated.

Thanks Robert! It is for a new HDRPTV, either Mit Plat 55 or Pioneer Pro 530, I haven't decided yet. Doesn't the Zenith have some remote features that the Sony does not? Also when you say the "same" reciever does that mean the same company builds them for both Sony and Zenith?

I have had one since Aug. It has run without any problems so far. I also have there DVD player for over a year now with no issues. IMH the picture is not bad for the price. I don't know agout it for a home theater but for a bedroom or the kids it's great for the $.
