    How are velodyne subs?

I have the Velodyne SPL1200. I really enjoy it, but it is perhaps a bit overkill due to the fact I live in a condo. I can't turn the thing up past 3 for fear of shaking my neighbors out of their beds. It really moves some air. It is an accurate sub good for music and great on HT. Velodyne makes...

    Speakers (Paradigm/Bose) Receiver-watts (LONG)

Mark's got it right. The B&W 600 series are one of the "best value for sound" speaker setups you can get. Think about your room size, when you check out the B&W's you may find the 601 S3 (a few $ more) better for fronts, the 600 S3's should work fine for rears. The Paradigm's are really nice also.

    B&W FCM8 as center w/602?

I also recently purchased the 602 S3's for fronts. I am planning on getting the 601 S3's for rears later this month. Alot of people here say to get the LCR600 over the LCR60, but like Mark, my dealer also recommended me to get the LCR60 for the same reasons, but they did not have a LCR60 set up...

Need advice on my upgrade plans and sequence...

I'm in the same boat (my current system is 10 yrs old). I went with a subwoofer first, I got a Velodyne SPL1200 to add some bass, it helped but I'm still not getting that real HT experience. I'm doing the receiver next, my Yamaha is a good one, but dated for HT use with only Dolby Prologic. The...

    Help Me Decide

Today I went to another dealer to hear the Rotel again, I was impressed again. I'll go to the Pioneer dealer tomorrow and be impressed by that one as well...I just wish I could get them both at the same location to see if I really want to spend that extra cash. I will decide this weekend.

    Help Me Decide

I think I am sold on the 45TX. I believe I read you purchased yours online. I was thinking of going that route, in order to save around $300, however I also read about the serial numbers beinbg scratched off and warranty issues. I'm not usre why this worries me, I bought my Yamaha 10 years ago...

    Help Me Decide

I have been reading this forum (and others) for over a month now and have gained a wealth of information in my quest to rebuild my HT system. My current system is about 10 years old, so it's time for an upgrade. Some info: I will use the system 75% HT and 25% music (rock mainly). My room size is...
