    2046 coming out this week

Layoyo and DVD Asian both list the HK release as having English subtitles. (And anamorphic 16:9 NTSC, DTS audio, etc.) And at the bargain price of £4.30 plus shipping. Nice. There's also a limited edition 2-disc set, but no information on what that entails. Have Mei-Ah improved any in recent...

Cheers. I'd better wait for the release of the R1 SE and see which has the best sound then.

Leon- The professional Korean 2 disc

Hi, Can someone please clear this up once and for all, as someone asked earlier, but got no reply, and some of you have stated that you own this disc: Does this Korean R3 edition include the extended scene of Stansfield questioning Tony about Leon and Mathilda's whereabouts? Thank-you...

    2046 coming out this week

I think I'll just get the standard version. (Around US$5 plus shipping from all good Hong Kong based DVD retailers.) I'm not quite yet at the stage where I need a booklet in a language I don't understand to accompany my DVDs. Plus, there's still the negative reviews of the Cannes version...

    Untold Scandal DVD question

I saw Untold Scandal at the Edinburgh Film Festival, and I was very impressed with it. I was interested in purchasing it on DVD, and I see that there are several versions available. Excluding the pricey Japanese disc, there's a Korean and Hong Kong release. The Korean version comes on 2...

Shall We Dance? on DVD - new hope?

Apperently, there's an R2 (UK) release due sometime. Amazon.co.uk say December. Perhaps there's a good chance of a US R1 as well then. Later.

Complete List of DVD-Rot Known Titles?

I see that Apollo 13 is mentioned in this thread. I was planning on buying that film, and so I was wondering, is the region 1 "Collector's Edition" that is currently on sale prone to rot in this manner? Thanks.

Which out-of-print DVDs do you regret not buying?

Aeon Flux. I know it's just a few episodes and not the whole series, but I'd still liked to have bought it for a reasonable price. I really enjoyed the series when it was on TV, but for some inexplicable reason, I kept putting off buying the DVD. Maybe now there's a film version on its way...

    The Barbarian Invasions in July

Alas, I lent the DVD to a friend, but when I get it back, I'll take some screengrabs if you want to see them.

    The Barbarian Invasions in July

Does anyone have any details of this 112 minute version of the film? The Barbarian Invasions is my favourite film seen at the cinema so far this year. I already bought it on UK region 2 DVD (released by Artificial Eye). I'm excited to know that there's a longer version of the film available...

    Criterion 'Notorious' - for $5

AFAIK, the R2 disc of Chasing Amy has its extras licenced from the Criterion version too. And that's selling for UKP 7 at Play.com right now.

    Criterion 'Notorious' - for $5

Well, either there are dozens of large online DVD retailers in South Korea openly selling pirated DVDs (with secure credit card payment, shopping baskets and all), or this is a legit DVD. I think the latter is more likely. Ordered, and thanks very much for bringing this to my attention.

    Reversible DVD Cover Inserts

The UK Salvation releases of the Redemption films have reversable covers, with the new style covers (usually a still from the film) on the outside, and the old style covers with photos of models on the other. Also, dunno if it's a usual thing for Artificial Eye, but my R2 copy of The Piano...

    Rendezvous With Rama (merged)

I'd rather they just made a faithful film of the first book, and left it at that. Rama is better as something left mysterious and unexplained. Something beyond us. Tho that might be a bit hard to digest by the people who complain about films where "nothing happens." Good to hear that the...

    The Pianist...Canadian vs American releases

The difference between the US and Canadian screenshots is making me upset now. I'm thinking I'll get the US version, but just hang onto the Canadian DVD. The difference in price between the "soundtrack" (which I meant to buy anyway) and the three disc set is only four quid, so I don't think it...

    The Pianist...Canadian vs American releases

I got the Canadian 3 disc in the post today, and I'm disappointed that it's not progressive, because my Mac's DVD player doesn't do de-interlacing. I don't mind the edge enhancement, but a non-progressive DVD for a title as big as this is a bit of a let down. Apart from that, I'm more or less...

    Japanes LD's, LP's, etc w/ 'OBI'...what's the significance

Console game collectors go in for these big time as well. You also often hear them being refered to as spinecards. It's a nice feeling knowing that you have everything in the package that someone would have had buying the item new. It's a nice feeling, but some people take it way too...
