Lutron Spacer Installation 101 (Rev. 1/17/06 - Adding IR Emitters)

Adam, you are correct. That is what I intended to do. Zone 1 - 4 sconces Zone 2 - 4 pot lights with the rope lights under the stage lid. Zone 3 - 7 pot lights for the seating area. These pot lights also lit up the center part of the HT. Zone 4 - 3 strings of rope lights (hot wired, i.e. no...

Lutron Spacer Installation 101 (Rev. 1/17/06 - Adding IR Emitters)

Jay, much appreciated for your help. The problem I run into right now is that I am planning for 17 light fixtures, which includes 2 strings (one is 50 feet and one is 14 feet) of line voltage rope lights. The electical code in Alberta only allows 12 outlets (combination of light fixtures and...

Lutron Spacer Installation 101 (Rev. 1/17/06 - Adding IR Emitters)

Jay, thanks for a timely post. I am still debating between GE and Spacer System. Is each of your zone is connected to a breaker in main breaker panel or all the zones are connected to just one breaker? P.S.: Is this how you wire the lighting: Circuit Breaker(s) to light fixtures to dimmers...

    Theater finally started

Dan, it seems it's easier to get the Dricore from down in States. The two are basically the same thing. Yes I did most of them already and it's very easy to work with. One thing is that your concrete floor needs to be smooth no serious bumps or dips. If you do then fix them with the concrete...

    Need help with room setup...

SethC, I don't know that is practical to you or not. If it was me I will get a front projection and place the screen in front of the fire place. When movie or TV time, just roll down the screen. Your current TV can go into your bed room or something. Just my 2cents Good luck Ken

Looking for some advise on my HT design

Do you really need that single door to go into the theater. If you can build the wall and keep that door then it will probable be better. Another thing is if you build the wall then all your equipments can go to the scree wall. Right now I think you would probably need to squeeze through between...

    Disney To Test Self-Destructing Discs

BAD BAD BAD IDEA. I bet Disney will end up loss money on this project. The problem with these hugh companies' executives are that they live in their ivory tower for too long by themself, they kind of loss touch with the general public.

    Theater electrical! Opinons please!

Mike, you are correct. I bought the "Wiring 1-2-3" from Home Depot. I believed they use even a lower number 1440 Watt per breaker. Like my case I am planning to install 3-15 AMP. circuit breakers. I figured when I am watching movies or TV, the lights will be either turned off or in a dimming...

    Cheap subwoofer choices

Andrew, can the EZsub14 be used on a A/V receiver without a Subwoofer output? The reason is that I also have an old JVC A/V receiver that does not have a subwoofer output but I wanted to hook a sub on that one as well. Thanks Ken

    Tempest Sub Finished

Hello, all. I am thinking to build a sub with EZSUB14, Shiva 12" and a SUB100 Amp as suggested by CSS website. What else parts do I need to complete this project? The cost for the 3 items above is about Can$495. Is it worth it? Note: I have no experience in building any speakers. TIA
