This would be an exceptionally costly endeavor looking at the costs of the paint alone. New paint does little for resale value for your car if you ever plan on replacing it and trading it in or selling it. You did not mention how old your car is but the fact that it needs repainting tells me...
A life long Illini fan here as well (although Marty has a few years on me :-) - Grew up and still live in Champaign. What an unbelievable win. Watched the game in a very full sports bar here in Champaign and the exitement of this game in the bar was astounding. Cant wait to see the...
Try removing the headlight completely so you can get a good look in there. I had an old ford with a headlight that pointed up. No matter what I did to try to adjust it, it wouldnt move. I removed the headlight completely to find out that I had a broken mounting tab off the headlight bezel. A...
Some excellent suggestions above. Let me add a few of my faves, some of which have also were mentioned already Blantons Bookers Knob Creek Basil Haydens For a cheap one, I've enjoyed many a bottle of Henry Mckenna in my younger years.
I just got my copy this week. As I was watching side B, at abotu 41 mins into the movie, the video went dead - complete black. There was a 15 second return when they were hanging Amon Goeth, and complete black until the credits. Do I have a defective disk? I scanned through this huge thread...
I have a 20 year old Bob Carver Receiver 900 that needs repaired. I put this into storage several years ago when a high pitched tone is present whenever I used this receiver. The tone gets louder when I increase the volume basically driving me so nuts that I cannot listen to it. I would like to...
I agree with Matthew. I think that some kind of exclusive marketing agreement that the recording company has with a distributor in that country is preventing imports from another country even though it is from an authorized distributor (with the same exclusive marketing agreement but for the...
On my travels in Taiwan once my host mentioned that duck feet were served in the movie theaters there. He said that they were very popular with women..
Hello everyone. Mostly a lurker here... I have recently purchased my HT system and I am currently watching a lot of movies. I was watching "O Brother Where Art Thou" and there were a few scenes that blew me away sound-wise: The scene where the preacher was baptizing the people in the...
I figured it out! The coax is able to be assigned to the CD/SACD or DVD/LD functions only. I opened the front door on the receiver, pressed customize and cycled through the menu until I found coax-dvd. I changed this to CD/SACD and voila, it works. This SHOULD work with the DVD/LD function...
Bill_Wil wrote: I've heard of a similar problem with other Sony receivers and the solution was to switch the source on the receiver from "DVD" to "video 1" or something like that. For some reason the receiver would only get the digital signal when this other source was selected and not from...
Richard Travale wrote: One thought is that even though your manual says that the digital coax is the DVD default, there's a chance you still have to go into the receiver menu and tell it that the digital coax is the DVD source. Just a thought. **** an excellent thought. I went back to...
Jeff Gatie wrote: I looked at the manual for your DVD and receiver online. DVD: 1) Set the Dolby Digital output to "Dolby Digital" instead of "PCM". 2) Set the DTS output to "on" instead of "off". You must do this with no disk in the drive. Press "display" repeatedly when a disk is in...

Thank you for the advice everyone. Your recommendations were spot on. I have my system all set up and working. Now if I can only get the DVD and AVR settings to where I know that they are correct for my equipment/room, I'd be in 7th heaven... (another thread I think :-)
